Waterzooi has crafted a vessel of expression that I see and I adore because of what it is, not what it could be. There’s hints that there may be more chapters in the future, and I, for one, would be thrilled to see even more expansion into this realm. Please, Touch the Artwork 2 thrills me with a simple concept delivered with polish, poise and aplomb.

While absolutely gorgeous, and a pretty decent casual bit of puzzle-solving and adventure, it’s very short length is disappointing

Still, residual goodwill from the original helped us overlook the mechanical simplicity this time. We're keen to see Waterzooi stretch himself on his next gallery jaunt, but we'd recommend getting your hands on this one regardless.

The game teaches you more about James Ensor in a playful way, and perhaps even more importantly: it invites you to really look. At art, at details, at the stories behind the work. Please, Touch the Artwork 2 was made with great care and love by solo developer Thomas Waterzooi and knows how to combine art and play in an accessible way. It is creative, relaxing and above all original. It is therefore a pity that you get through it quickly, and the price tag is on the high side. But if you have any interest in old artists, it is good to support this game, hopefully we will get a nice compilation with all the Belgian masters.

Please, Touch The Artwork 2 is an incredibly immersive and evocative experience that tells a story. Its developer, Thomas Waterzooi, has gifted us a true gem, through which we now know so much not only about Belgian art, but about art in general, without ever being didactic. He entrusted us with everything, merely allowing us to touch the artwork.

Please Touch The Artwork 2 is a short experience, but one that leaves a lasting impression. It’ll likely only take you an hour or so to complete the game, unless you’re determined to not utilise the hint system. Either way, it’s bite-sized creative fun — and best of all, it’s completely free. You simply can’t beat it.

Please, Touch The Artwork 2 is a gorgeous hand-painted hidden object puzzler that doesn't overstay its welcome. The puzzles are quite tricky, some punishingly so, and the hint system could use some work, but it's an overall fun experience.
