Late Review

Minami Lane is a delightful and polished simulation game that offers approximately 3 hours of engaging gameplay, making it easy to achieve 1,000 Gamerscore points. While the gameplay is well-executed, the limited freedom within the game leaves little to explore after completing all missions, which is disappointing given its overall quality.

Minami Lane is well-crafted and full of charm. Its mechanics are all perfectly balanced, and the visual display is a total joy. While the experience may be brief, it’s well worth the trip down Minami Lane.

The art style has a cute and colorful aesthetic with an anime vibe. The music is very relaxing, and it picks up as your street gets busier. The gameplay is very simple, and it doesn’t ever feel like you’re pressed for time. It’s very impressive—considering the game was only made in 6 months.

Late Review

It certainly has a lot of promise, and the mechanics involved are well-implemented. (...) Unfortunately, it’s let down by its short length, and the lack of varied mechanics. I wish that the developers had spent a bit more time on creating more missions. Different customisation options would’ve been great too. Still, if you’re looking for a quick and simple game to bide your time, this fits the bill.

Launch Window

Minami Lane is easily one of the cutest and most “coziest” games I’ve ever played. From the moment I started it, I was immediately reminded of another cozy favourite of mine – Capybara Spa, but to be honest, Minami Lane is easily the better game. It perfectly balances challenge and cuteness with enough quirkiness and cats to satisfy any cozy games fan. My only gripe is that someone should’ve warned me to get a bubble tea to have on hand while playing Minami Lane.

Early Review

It’s true there’s not much to Minami Lane, but this is a fine example of wholesome gaming: simple, engaging and wonderfully relaxing. The fact it’s been made by such a small team makes it all the better. Don’t come here expecting an in-depth city building experience, but if a few hours of cosiness appeals, we’re pretty sure you’ll have a fine old time.
