Late Review

Maestro passes the baton to you to be a conductor with outstanding results. The core gameplay is fine-tuned and authentic, with a soundtrack that's one for the ages - and not because it's a lot of old songs. However, with a lack of incentive to outperform yourself or peers, and no good way to play the game outside of going between songs for 2 hours, Maestro is slightly lacking in being an essential VR game.

Maestro is an addictive and satisfying experience. You have a selection of legendarily good music to conduct, from Ride of the Valyries to Duel of the Fates, and there's plenty of challenge once you've grown familiar enough to move onto Hard difficulty, though you may need to pick up your actual controllers for that.

Maestro is easily one of the best music titles available on virtual platforms and missing it would be a real shame. Beyond its unique setting, what makes the experience truly unforgettable is the effortless way it draws you into its gameplay loop—both fun and flawlessly executed. Its strengths lie in a solid visual presentation and especially in the excellent hand tracking, which adds that extra spark. If you're a fan of music games, Maestro is a must-have. Skipping it? Now that would be criminal.

Maestro puts the hand tracking of the Meta Quest 3 to the test, and nails it. With song familiarity, unlocks galore, and a simple, yet fun and challenging interface, this is a game you don't want to pass up. Even if you're not a musician, you'll be pleased with the hand tracking by itself, and that's going to get Maestro a lot of roses. Bravo.
