Launch Window

Wizard of Legend 2 is a smart sequel. It grows the formula, expands the world, and doubles down on build variety without losing the core “magic” that made the original stand out. Yes, the combat feeling has changed, and no, it’s not quite as tight. But the added depth, visual upgrade, and co-op potential more than make up for it, if the technical side keeps improving.

It may be very different but Wizard of Legend 2's lovely 3D visuals and slick action-packed co-op gameplay will definitely cast a spell on you. 🧙

Wizard of Legend 2 is finally out of Steam Early Access with a game that’s fun to play solo and even more with a few friends along for the ride.

Launch Window

"A charming return, but not without its flaws." Wizard of Legend 2 has a strong core built on dynamic magical combat and fun customization. But despite a promising start, the game suffers from narrative shortcomings, weak team performance, and technical glitches that detract from the experience. There's genuine enjoyment for fans of the genre, but the game needs an update to reach its full potential.

Launch Window

What Dead Mage has crafted here has incredible promise, but the full release at launch feels half-baked and designed around being a single-player experience that just happens to allow for co-op, without the instance loot and balance to pull it off. You can easily have a solid few hours of fun here, but I don’t see many players seeing it through to become the titular Wizard of Legend.

Early Review

Despite some underwhelming powers and the uncertainties around its learning curve, Wizard of Legend 2 stands out as an ambitious and visually appealing roguelike that fans of Hades and the original will likely appreciate. While there is certainly nothing stopping you from taking the game on solo, Wizard of Legend 2 just feels like a game that would be better in a group, so I recommend getting the game for a few friends as well.
