Launch Window“Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: From the Ashes feels like an AA game masquerading as an expansion. Standalone, rich in content, beautiful, and fun. Some technical issues aside, if you’re looking to scratch that Far Cry itch, look no further.”

Launch Window“After about 18 hours, From The Ashes left me with a clear impression. This is a better version of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It improves the story, gives you a protagonist worth caring about, removes most of the unnecessary padding, and fully benefits from a third-person camera that changes everything. It also fits a familiar Ubisoft pattern, launching rough and then quietly becoming much better over time, often at a lower price.”

Launch Window“From the Ashes doesn't transform Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, but it enhances it. It's honest additional content that engages with the current state of the franchise in theaters without losing focus on the gameplay experience.”

Launch Window“From the Ashes is not a huge change from Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, but it is a good one. The expansion makes things more intense and personal by focusing on just one character, adding strife between Na’vi, and changing the environment. It uses methods that are already known, but takes them into darker areas.”

Launch Window“So'lek's journey is a deeply personal one, one that feels incredibly well told with a great respect for the source material. It certainly helps to have seen the last two films, but it certainly doesn't lessen the experience in significant ways if you've yet to watch them. From the Ashes provides a very similar feel to the base game, with unfortunately little to really have it truly stand alone. So'lek's journey is wonderful, but it colors inside the lines of the original just a bit too much.”

Launch Window“From the Ashes is Frontiers of Pandora at its best. So'lek is a strong lead, the story goes darker, and the new skills and third-person flow make combat and stealth feel sharper than ever.”

Launch Window“Without surprises or major creative innovations, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - From the Ashes is consistent with what the original game established, adding a new area fully connected to the theme of the third film and elevating a new character to protagonist status. With some interface tweaks, welcome additions among native and foreign enemies, and subtle changes in equipment management, the campaign maintains the same solid structure already known, and Pandora, even in flames, remains an incredible place to explore.”

Launch Window“Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - From the Ashes is a simplified yet cinematic story expansion that focuses on the best of the IP, without bogging you down with too much clutter. Its new third-person mode gives the game a whole new feel, and we wouldn't play it any other way. While Massive missed the mark with its Na'Vi enemies, it's a delight to spend more time in this giant multimedia sci-fi world.”

Launch Window“From the Ashes complements the arc of the main game coherently while providing synergy with the latest film. By introducing a more brutal protagonist and focused, compact missions, it reinforces the saga's core themes without losing the fun. Despite inheriting conventional systems and occasional bugs from the base game, it stands as a solid and visually striking DLC tailored for fans of James Cameron’s universe.”

Launch Window“If you saw Avatar 3 at the cinema, the new game expansion will let you explore the events and a new tribe from a different perspective. While the expansion offers a solid story, the level design is weaker and the missions are repetitive.”

Launch Window“Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - From The Ashes is a pleasant surprise, especially for those who didn't care too much about the base game when it was originally released. The different perspective alone makes this feel less like Far Cry, even though the actions haven't changed too much. The lack of fluff makes the game feel more focused, and the game remains exciting thanks to the addition of more formidable boss fights and finishing moves. Nothing will convince non-fans to give this game a shot, but if you had a passing interest in the Avatar franchise, this DLC is a pretty good showcase of what a good Avatar game can be like.”

Launch Window“From the Ashes represents the moment when Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora finally finds a clearer direction. It doesn't erase the uncertainties of the past, but it confronts them, transforming them into an opportunity for growth. Thanks to a more personal narrative, refined gameplay, and structural changes that improve pacing and immersion, Pandora manages to rise from its ashes, offering a more mature, more coherent, and decidedly more compelling experience.”

Launch Window“Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora – From the Ashes tries to tell a poignant story of loss from a Na'vi perspective, but lingering gameplay flaws mean only the most patient fans are likely to stick with it to the end.”

Launch Window“From the Ashes is what the original game wanted to be, but never fully managed to achieve. A more interesting protagonist, a more personal story, slightly more enjoyable action, and better pacing together with the option to switch to a third-person perspective are the main attractions of this expansion, which is definitely worth buying.”
