Late Review“While it can be a grindfest, fans of the CPUs will want to check it out just to see how often Noire is referred to as having no friends.”

Late Review“Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online is a game that fans of the series will enjoy. The dialogue-heavy nature and comedy are well done, and the story doesn't get in the way of it. It does a serviceable job of making the MMO-style gameplay work, but you have to accept the grind in order to not be bothered by it. It isn't a good title for those who are just jumping into the universe, but if you've played anything previously released for the series and fell in love with it, then 4GO isn't a bad addition.”

Late Review“Honestly, were it not for some really glaring problems, such as the AI's problems with ledges and the poor gear balancing, the game itself would be pretty fun.”

Launch Window“I was so ready for an action RPG entry in the Neptunia series to come along and scratch my itch, but instead it puked on my lap and barely touched the itch. I had so much fun with the story and characters, but with better combat and more consistent performance, this game could've been something special.”

Launch Window“Though Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online stands as the strongest spin-off in the series, its shallow combat and uninspired boss fights will likely prevent it from appealing to all but the most hardcore of Neptunia and action RPG enthusiasts.”

Launch Window“Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online brings the MMORPG experience into both its gameplay and story, and the series characteristic humor should please veteran players of the series or the genre. The battle system is enough to be fun, however, it needs a lot more polishing to become something special. 4GO is recommended for those who like the Neptunia series or those that are looking for a simple action game to play with friends.”

Launch Window“Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online is the MMO experience you've been dreaming of for Neptune and her friends, though it does come with a lot of shortcomings. The game does a novel job of producing a quick paced action JRPG that looks and feels incredibly like an MMORPG in almost every way, down to a “text chat” box. There are some issues with combat and that drags the experience down. Despite that, the game provides a fun and basic online mission mode, and provides a lot of fun and fast paced action in a pretty package.”

Launch Window“Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online is a perfectly serviceable action RPG. That might not sound like a ringing endorsement, but for folks who are looking for a bit of mindless, distracting entertainment (and who couldn't use that with all the things going on in the world today?), Tamsoft's latest foray into this goofy game industry parody should fit the bill nicely. It's certainly not the mark of a masterpiece when the most you can say about a game is that it's fun and mostly inoffensive, but this series has never really been aiming for that high mark in the first place, and that's just fine by me.”

Early Review“Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online made me excited for this series' potential again. I took a break and came back to find that, outside of Unreal Engine 4 graphics, the biggest changes were in gameplay and story progression, but the cast of characters, which I feel is the heart of the series, is better than ever in this entry. With solid controls, a variations of quests, multiple dungeons to explore, and many hours of items collecting and level grinding, Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online will provide that Nep-tastic adventure that fans have been waiting for while at the same time slowing down in certain parts for new fans to jump in and acquaint themselves with the Goddesses.”

Early Review“Even new technology and online features can't save Cyberdimension Neptunia from being a dull, forgettable experience. There are trappings of a good game here, and while the tone is consistent with other Neptunia games, Cyberdimension Neptunia's execution leaves much to be desired.”

Early Review“As a fan of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series, Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online was worth playing. It is always enjoyable to see some of your favorite characters and this time around you get to pair the four CPUs up with their sisters as well as alternate versions of their goddess forms.”

Early Review“A huge graphical overhaul and a nice script helps the series keep its charm, but it doesn't solve some of the inherent issues therein.”

Early Review“Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online is a pleasant surprise, actually. The fast-paced combat is a welcome change from the tedious encounter system from previous games, and the story strikes a good balance of cutesy and interesting. Unfortunately, the gameplay gets really repetitive as bosses and enemies get reused level after level, so it's hard to want to keep at it for long. The balancing is completely off, and there's not a lot of challenge past the first couple of dungeons. Still, the gameplay has its charms, and the solid writing makes this one of the first Neptunia titles casual RPG fans and devout Neptune addicts might both enjoy.”

Early Review“For silly, ridiculous, self-deprecating humour, backed by gorgeous character and environment art, and a fast, fluid, and genuinely entertaining combat system, I've had such a good time with Cyberdimension Neptunia that I can't help but love it.”
