Late Review

Much of Kandagawa Jet Girls is done incredibly well. The gameplay is varied and interesting, allowing the player to explore how to best approach races and competition, while also offering fun and upbeat music and visuals along the way. It's all strung together by a well-defined aesthetic, from the menus to the loading screens and the UI. What cannot be forgotten - and what takes away the most from this game - is the obsession with these teen girls' bodies in the design. It's cheap and gross, and it completely detracts from the experience. While the races sometimes become bland with ease, the most glaring point that I took away from the experience is how girls' bodies are depicted and designed in media. When it comes down to it, you can make a game that knocks it out of the park in every way, but if you can't show your teen characters without highlighting their massive cleavage or design them without massive breasts in the first place, then frankly, it's not a respectable product that should be taken seriously, and therefore it isn't good.

Even with the demanding challenge of producing a good game, Kandagawa Jet Girls managed to succeed. There are some problematic aspects such as level of difficulty, loadings and other details. Even so, in the end, the experience is good and fun, as we have several missions and options to play, as well as a lot of content to unlock. It is recommended for fans of Senran Kagura, for racing games fans or lovers of anime in general.

Its premise is incredibly promising yet Kandagawa Jet Girls does nothing but disappoint with its monotonously slow racing that feels like it's aimed towards small children but should kids really play a game with excessive thong shots and bouncing boobs? Probably not.

A beautiful anime racing title that has a lot of customization and mechanics to love. If you aren't a big fan of high school type anime, this may not be the game for you.

Kandagawa Jets Girls is the jet ski racing shooter needed in life. Rock to the soundtrack with Rin, Misa, and the all the teams attempting the Kandagawa Cup. Featuring a full story mode, mulit-player and mini games, it is a refreshing summer release.

Kandagawa Jet Girls is a solid but too easy arcade racer that doesn’t quite deliver on fan-service but still manages to offer a great collection of characters.

While Kandagawa Jet Girls is somewhat entertaining on the whole, its gameplay simply doesn’t excite like it should.

Kandagawa Jet Girls uses an unusual theme and inspirations from other great games in the arcade racing genre. However, the title fails to reach the level of its inspirations. Even within the developer's portfolio, Kandagawa looks strangely unfinished in many ways.

Combining some fun mechanics unique to surfing the waves and a little gunplay to keep your opponents from getting too close, Kandagawa Jet Girls offers a compelling racing experience.

This is a rather unusual experience, which in some ways makes it pretty interesting. The core concept is actually fun, provided you find the right amount of challenge, with enough details to make it interesting. Different teams and people have their own stats, you can control looks, and obviously tracks offer different challenges. It's enough to find it enjoyable, provided you have reasonable expectations. It might not be Mario Kart, even if it is similar, but it does a good job of presenting a fun idea and giving players things to mess with.

Kandagawa Jet Girls delights with its boisterous, glowing presentation, cast of vibrant characters, and array of fun side-attractions. But the jet-ski action itself is mostly dull, struggling to offer a decent challenge or a genuine sense of speed. Jet Girls rides waves of goodwill thanks to its infectious personality, but this eventually gives way to tepid, monotonous gameplay, hampering what could have been one of Marvelous' best releases yet.

Kandagawa Jet Girls follows the unfortunate pattern that many of HONEY∞PARADE GAMES latest titles have fallen victim to. There's style and charm galore, with sharp character visuals, fun music, and a charming anime-as-hell story mode. The actual gameplay, though, is rough at every possible edge, presenting a half-baked version of a truly interesting idea that simply wasn't executed on well. There's a lot to love with this game, but unfortunately, there's plenty to dislike as well.

Whether you enjoy KJG depends on what kind of fun you’re looking for. If you want a racing game, this might not be for you. If you want to ogle and/or glam up a squad of anime girls, then you’re in for a good time.

It's a real shame that even though the game looks so bright and colorful the whole package is just incredibly dull. With only a handful of game modes, a bland story, and no local co-op mode to spice things up a bit, it's not going to take you long to tire of this. Even if you're a fan of the anime it's probably better to give this one a miss.

It relishes in being brazen to the point that it knows it's going to draw some eye rolls. It also knows that many of its fans will enjoy both the brazenness and the eye rolls from the puritans - it's edgy like that. But, really, it's great. It's an excellent blend of "kart" racer and jetski playground, and it is built with a level of precision and eye for detail that I think will surprise and impress many

Early Review

The game has an innteresting mix of genres which involves aqua motorsports and shooting action. Kandagawa Jet Girls tries to push this unbalanced mixture all while allowing the gamers to fully customize their characters and their 'Jets' till their hearts desire. Variety of different modes somewhat allows this overwhelming experiment into a bucket of creative ideas, which at least provides some much needed gameplay hours.
