Gwent: Rogue Mage

Released: 7/7/2022

GWENT: Rogue Mage is a single-player expansion to GWENT: The Witcher Card Game combining the best elements of roguelike, deckbuilding, and strategy games with the unique mechanics of GWENT card battles. Hundreds of years before Geralt and other witchers roamed the Continent, the Conjunction of the Spheres brought endless ranks of monsters into the world. Humanity desperately needed a way to fight back the onslaught to survive. Follow the journey of a young and ambitious mage, Alzur, and his companion Lily, who embark on a dangerous quest to create a living weapon that will eradicate the monster threat once and for all. No holding back: Battles last only one round, so players will need to use every trick up their sleeve to help Alzur stave off the onslaught. New resource — energy: Each turn, Alzur can cast powerful spells from his ever-expanding Grimoire by spending energy. It can be replenished between battles by visiting Places of Power or through random encounters on the map. Turning the tables: Alzur starts at a disadvantage by not being able to react to the opponents’ final card play. By progressing the campaign and unlocking high-end bonuses, players can take complete control of the battle flow. Every run is different: Once Alzur completes the first two experiments, Curses become unlocked. These flexible difficulty modifiers ramp up the variety in each run, and provide players with a greater challenge every time.
