“I previously questioned the replayability of Taxi Life. This was due to the fact I could see it very easily becoming mundane just collecting and dropping passengers off. However, I do believe that the addition of the Delivery Driver DLC does offer a freshness to the game. Final Thoughts Whilst I haven’t played Taxi Life in a while, this DLC has definitely drawn me back in. It was fun to be driving around again, only with an extra layer of mission, not just drive from A to B as fast as I could. Honestly, the fact that they have fixed the pedestrian issue was reason enough to give this DLC a higher award then the base game. However, the Delivery Driver DLC deserves recognition in it’s own right. Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator – Delivery Driver receives the Thumb Culture Gold Award from me.”

“Shujinkou is clearly a love letter to Japanese language and culture, created by a team with passion for both games and language. Despite the technical issues and uneven pacing, I really loved my time with this game. As someone relearning Japanese, immersing myself in the language learning aspects was both a great refresher and a genuine learning tool at times without ever losing focus on also being a fun game experience. The combat is engaging with just the right amount of difficulty, and the characters are charming and memorable. I still listen to the music every chance I get. It’s a long game, so if you get it be prepared for the commitment, but I think it’s well worth your time.”

While each run is short and compact, the screen can get muddled with flashy effects, and there’s next to no story, Koei Tecmo has released a video game dripping with addictive gameplay and oodles of replayability. “Cold VR has done an interesting job in taking the Superhot DNA and twisting it into something different. It's fun, fast and frenetic, and is a good way to spend 30-minute bursts of action in VR, especially for those who really enjoy similar styles of game. For some, the change of pace from Superhot will be pleasing. However, a tacked-on story that never really gets off the ground and a less refined physics system with some inconsistencies in combat, makes it feel decidedly more like a budget version of its main inspiration, except with a price tag that doesn't quite match.”
