The Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Claws of Awaji add-on offers a short and straightforward story that answers some lingering questions, but it brings no real innovation in terms of gameplay or content. On the contrary, it suffers from downgraded graphics and weak sound design, while insisting on pushing the player toward combat rather than stealth, resulting in an average experience that falls short of expectations.

Midnight Murder Club tried to deliver a group experience that blends humour and tension, but it failed to strike the right balance. The visuals are average, and while the game feels vague at the start, it can still offer some fun moments with friends thanks to its distinctive sound design. It’s more suited for those looking for short-term cooperative entertainment, but not for players seeking a long-lasting immersive experience.

Once Upon a Puppet tried to present a new and exciting idea, and it partially succeeded by building a theatrical world with an artistic and visually appealing style, accompanied by music that matches the atmosphere. However, it overlooked everything beyond that. Behind this enchanting curtain lies a shallow gameplay experience with repetitive puzzles and a story that lacks soul. While the game does have a unique identity, it falls short on delivering enjoyment, which causes boredom to quickly take over the experience.

The Lake House expansion offers a thrilling experience and a mysterious story that intriguingly connects the worlds of Remedy. However, despite its rich atmosphere and well-crafted level, it remains a very short side adventure that provides no answers to the lingering questions left after finishing Alan Wake 2.

As a long-awaited and free return, Silent Hill: The Short Message delivered on expectations with a story true to the spirit of the Silent Hill series, featuring well-crafted environments and a good variety in music. However, its limited gameplay options, lack of puzzles, and inconsistent frame rate left us with mixed impressions overall.

The Valhalla DLC in God of War Ragnarök is far from a filler packed with random challenges — it delivers a remarkable story and epic battles, all within a rich and expansive experience. Kratos’ journey through Valhalla stands as the perfect gift for longtime fans of the classic titles and a powerful introduction to his past for those who only experienced the newer entries.

Quantum Error managed to present an intriguing story, but its impact would have been far greater had it been adapted into a cinematic work rather than a video game. Despite featuring some exciting ideas, it falls into several pitfalls. It’s a clearly ambitious project, but one that ultimately suffers from limited resources — had those been available, the game could have delivered a much stronger and more refined experience.
