For me, everything about Static Dread: The Lighthouse works and it is exactly what I want out of this type of experience. It won’t be the scariest title you play this year, but the atmosphere and dread that washes over you is much more of a thrill than a lot of horror games give you. The gameplay loop - which I doubted at first - soon grew to be a highlight, I simply can’t recommend Static Dread: The Lighthouse enough, and it is now my favourite game that uses the theme of Lovecraftian horror.

Although it lacks polish at times, I enjoyed my time spent shooting and staking vampires to my heart’s content, it has drawbacks but overall it took me a few hours to complete and I had fun throughout, it may not stay too long in the memory, but while playing I was entertained.

Psychopathy assessment is a game of two halves, and it only takes around 40 minutes to complete. For the first half, I think it is a wonderfully chilling and unsettling experience which also makes you ask yourself thoughtful questions, the second half however is a lacklustre horror game which makes it hard to recommend. But if they ever made a sequel or spiritual sequel that focuses more on the style set out initially - I would 100 percent be excited for it.

Funnily enough I think King Kong is the game’s biggest asset, with standard 2.5D action and platforming gameplay alone it would be easy to dismiss, but the interactions with Kong and solid level design mean that there is enough here to find Kong: Survivor Instinct enjoyable.

Though not the longest or scariest game you can play, I think there is more than enough here to enjoy, it has a lot of heart and charm to go along with the tense cat and mouse hunt you will find yourself in. It is one of those titles that make you keen to see what the developers do next.

After an hour I really felt this just wouldn't be for me, I was angry, frustrated, and just wanted to push through it all, but as I played, the unique charm and experience shone through, the PS1 feel, the drab, mercilessly depressing world, and the clunky combat - which I feel some people may hate but really made me feel like I was playing a title from 1996 - it all just clicked and it went from hate to love.

This feels like a game with lots of unrealised potential, weightless combat and an over-reliance on jump scares - it doesn't hit the mark, but being the first game by Salient games, I think they have potential and I am going to keep an eye out for what they do next. 5/10

This is a game that may not be for everyone - but it really should be played by most. It is an amazing story that’s been wonderfully realised, it is powerful, and scary, and really makes you think. I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream has top notch voice acting and the biggest problem that plagues it is easily alleviated with modern access to guides. I highly recommend experiencing this at least once, but I also recommend the original short story and listening to some Harlan Ellison interviews as well. I look forward to revisiting this in another ten years.

Problems with a ‘by the numbers’ story and gameplay are massively exacerbated with a game-breaking event, I think the game does just enough to get by, but being completely unable to continue is unforgivable. Its never pleasant to say this, but following my experience with Into Death and Beyond, I can’t recommend this title.

There is still enough here for you to have a decent time, the sniping is a different element for these types of horror games and is something you don’t see too often. Sniper Killer has some nice moments but for me, doesn't quite come together completely, in terms of the story.

I loved every moment that I shared with Home Safety Hotline; it is amazing throughout. I’m going to add massively to global warming with just how much of a light I want to shine on developers Night Signal Entertainment. If you are a fan of horror - or just amazing things in general - you should play this, and even if you’re not you should still play it anyway.
