The first Yooka-Laylee was Playtonic Games’ attempt to revitalize that classic Nintendo 64-style 3D platforming collect-a-thon. Yooka-Replaylee aimed to take that formula and modernize it for contemporary gamers, and they have absolutely succeeded. While Yooka-Replaylee makes its predecessor obsolete by comparison, the experience itself stands alone as a mighty fun 3D platforming adventure.

Level-5’s low-stakes casual RPG blends action-adventure with the laid-back chill aspects of a Life-sim. Explore the island and unravel its mysteries, or relax and tend to the garden. Regardless of the path chosen, Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is sure to steal time away from anyone who plays!

High on Knife is a fun return to the High on Life world Squanch Games created. That said, the adventure seems rather short, taking between 2 to 3 hours to complete. While the post-game does provide players with additional side missions, and an excuse to further explore the DLCs new areas, none of them feel particularly substantial.

While the initial concept appears simple on the surface, the end result is anything but. By uniquely combining two staples in the gaming pantheon, dietzribi impacted both the indie scene and the puzzle genre as a whole.

Fun can still be had in Stubbs The Zombie, however, its flaws are still ever apparent. It’s a mostly enjoyable experience, just feels very dated and was an incredibly low-effort remaster.

Antonball Deluxe is a package of retro-inspired goodness that will scratch that arcade itch.

Everything from the characters to dialog is leaking with charm. While the game does suffer from gameplay issues and slowdowns, UmaikiGames endearing efforts should definitely be applauded.

While there were some technical issues, nothing was game-breaking. I would put Spinch up there with Super Meat Boy on well-made precision platformers.

Taito’s latest creation is an example of a retro revival done right and a release this caliber was an awesome way to celebrate the franchise’s 34-year legacy.

As a connoisseur of platformers, I knew I was going to like Reventure. What I didn’t know, was that I would constantly be thinking about it.
