“STARBITES delivers a charming cast of characters, satisfying mech customization, and nostalgic turn-based combat. Despite technical hiccups, this sci-fi RPG feels like a hidden gem for old-school RPG fans.”

A Gaming NetworkMay 14, 2026Score 90Pre-release Review

“Forza Horizon 6 is an outstanding open-world racing game and one of the most enjoyable entries in the series. It captures the freedom, energy, and sense of discovery that have always made Horizon special, while adding new activities like food delivery missions, Smash Stunt, car meets, treasure cars, skill songs, and massive festival races that make Japan exciting to explore. The only major disappointment is that the game does not fully embrace Japanese racing culture as much as it could have. More touge battles, drift-focused events, street racing, and tuning culture would have made the setting feel even more complete. Even with that missed opportunity, Forza Horizon 6 is a fantastic racing experience. It is fast, fun, social, and constantly rewarding. If you love the Horizon series, this is easily one of its strongest entries.”

“Yes, the familiar formula at the heart of the game is still very much intact. At times, it even makes you think that you've played this before. But once you start speeding beneath Tokyo’s neon lights or weaving through the chaos of the Shuto Expressway, that feeling quickly fades away.”

“Starbites is that JRPG that stays true to its promise, delivering exactly what is on the tin. Its turn-based gameplay borrows some formulas and mechanics from other JRPGs, which may feel uninspired to some fans but can be a novelty to others.”

“Forza Horizon 6 brilliantly capitalized on the allure of Japan as the game's driving force. However, the problem lies in the developer's reliance on the "magic of the setting" as a primary draw, missing golden opportunities to introduce fresh ideas that resonated with the culture.”

“When it wasn't the bugs and performance doing it, it was the repetitive, boring dungeons that nearly had me cast aside my controller. Sadly, Starbites neither aims high enough to get anywhere near the stars, nor does it have enough firepower to even breach the atmosphere. If you do somehow feel compelled to play it, leave the Switch version buried in the desert where it belongs.”

“There are plenty of enjoyable moments involving the character interactions or when the combat and exploration get into a good rhythm, but it never really takes that extra step needed to stick in the memory. Nonetheless, it’s an enjoyable enough way to spend the time, and there’s a strong base for IKINAGAMES to be able to build upon going forward.”

Worth PlayingMay 14, 2026Score 85Pre-release Review

“Forza Horizon 6 delivers exactly what it promises, but it doesn't really innovate on the franchise. This is basically comfort food gaming. It's fun and familiar, but it doesn't break new ground. If you're a fan of the franchise, you won't be disappointed. If you're new to racing games, Forza Horizon 6 is a fantastic entry point, but if you're on a budget, you may want to pick up a copy of Forza Horizon 5 instead, as it's often on sale.”

“Our journey to Japan came full of passion and dazzling details; as Playground Games studio managed to maintain the series' identity and richness, by providing more diverse and exciting races that grant players a renewed and enjoyable experience all the time. The team also excelled in designing a massive and captivating world pulsing with life, full of breathtaking scenes and enchanting atmospheres that make its exploration a pleasure in itself. The quality of the experience was not limited to that only, but was also supported by a strong technical level, dazzling graphics, and meticulous sound design that enhanced the sense of immersion and made the experience unforgettable, despite the existence of some noticeable similarities with the previous installment.”

“Forza Horizon 6 doesn't just continue the legacy of the series: it relaunches it with the confidence of those who know they're the absolute benchmark for open-world racing. It's an installment that aims to amaze from the very first mile, pushing the boundaries of what's possible. Playground Games' title offers virtually endless content, with gameplay progression that's still well-balanced. All of this is set in a Japan recreated with unconditional love and incredible attention to detail. Every road echoes the Japanese terrain, offering views of the city and nature that, with the changing seasons, reveal completely different nuances.”

“I’m as captivated as I am frustrated by Forza Horizon 6. It’s still the best open-world racing game on the market and I intend to spend hundreds of hours playing it – but after a four-year wait and significant competition, I was expecting more innovation. It’s simply more of the same, just on a fresh and beautiful map.”

Geeks & ComMay 14, 2026Score 80Pre-release Review

“Forza Horizon 6 remains an excellent racing game. It’s beautiful, smooth, accessible, and offers an impressive amount of content. In fact, the online modes are well-designed, and the new menu makes them much easier to access. However, the game also feels like it’s playing it too safe by relying heavily on the foundations laid by its predecessors. For a new player, it’s an ideal entry point into the franchise. For veterans, it’s a return to familiar territory, with a few interesting detours, but no real surprises.”
