“This is a fairly unique game that's pretty impressive in some ways, given its indie nature, but the controls and signposting simply aren't good enough. With some tweaks to the platforming, wall running, and wall chainsawing, this would be a far better game, but as it stands, it's too frustrating for general audiences, even if I think most people interested in the concept will still be able to overlook its many foibles.”

“If you like urban open worlds with life sim elements, then it's impossible not to recommend NTE right now. This game has one of the most beautiful, vibrant sandbox settings I've seen in some time – and despite some irksome characters, I'm generally enjoying its plot so far, which blends slice of life mangas with sci-fi horror. The gacha business model is understandably not going to resonate with everyone, but at launch this is one of the more generous games in the genre thus far. And the sheer number of things to do day one, from managing coffee shops to beating down possessed DJ decks in DDR-style rhythm battles, is simply unprecedented.”

“There’s not a lot of major surprises in Welcome to Cafe Lumière! ~A Dragon Girl Concept Cafe~, as it’s an otherwise somewhat straightforward slice-of-life cafe-based adult visual novel. Still, I found it more enjoyable than I perhaps was expecting, mainly due to a rather fun main heroine who had quite a bit to enjoy. It ends somewhat abruptly for what it is, although it’s already received an (unlocalized at the time of writing) sequel, so if this is to be considered the start of a series, I enjoyed this maiden voyage enough for what it was.”

Latest: World Heroes Perfect

IGN KoreaMay 2, 2026Score 70

“World Heroes Perfect is a game that maintains its direction of leaving powerful options intact and creating fun through their collisions, rather than carefully refining balance. As a result, matches are not built around steadily accumulating advantage, but instead tend to shift dramatically from a single decision. The jump-centered pressure, noticeable differences in character performance, and repeatedly dominant patterns can feel rough and unfair by modern standards. However, these same elements also create the game’s unique sense of tension and speed. Even in the Neo Geo Premium Selection version, these characteristics remain unchanged, and in some ways, they stand out even more clearly. Ultimately, this is not a game suited for players expecting refined competition and balanced design, but for those who can embrace bold design and immediate fun, it still delivers a distinctly memorable experience.”

PragaliciousMay 1, 2026Score 60

“Invincible VS is fun for fans of the series but too generic for others. This is a fighting game that doesn’t do anything special, but doesn’t do much wrong either. Each character fights largely the same way but has their own flair. The story mode is a nice addition (though rather short); couch co-op and online battles add more longevity. The graphic style could have been more authentic and the finish isn’t quite up to scratch either. The 3v3 battles add a nice tactical element without going overboard. Still, this Invincible VS will be largely invisible within a few months.”

“After all these years, 'Pragmata' has become a game that is rock-solid, but not exactly Game of the Year material. The shooting and hacking feel great, and the setting is very interesting. It is a bit of a shame that the overarching story doesn't do much with that and that there is little variety in the bots you have to fight. I sincerely hope that Capcom doesn't forget the franchise, because those two things could be resolved so that a sequel could indeed rank among the absolute top titles.”

“Double Fine has given us another charming Xbox first-party title in the form of Kiln, which might be light on content, but nevertheless is a fun time both on and off the battlefield. The pot-creation system is a genius take on a character creation suite, matches are frantic but offer plenty of room for strategy, and the overall presentation is really high quality. Moving forward though, it's going to need regular new content to remain fresh and give players a reason to keeping coming back, otherwise I fear this online-only game might get doused a little too prematurely.”
