Pure XboxMay 1, 2026Score 70

“Double Fine has given us another charming Xbox first-party title in the form of Kiln, which might be light on content, but nevertheless is a fun time both on and off the battlefield. The pot-creation system is a genius take on a character creation suite, matches are frantic but offer plenty of room for strategy, and the overall presentation is really high quality. Moving forward though, it's going to need regular new content to remain fresh and give players a reason to keeping coming back, otherwise I fear this online-only game might get doused a little too prematurely.”

“Invincible VS is an easy game to pick up and fall in love with. I believe it has the chance to have some staying power within the ranks of the fighting game scene. With the fan following behind the comics and animated series, there is no reason why it cannot hold its own and stick around for a while. Throw in a lower-than-normal price point and smaller install size in comparison to other fighting games, Invincible VS is just more friendly to players overall.”

“Invincible VS is more than just an arcade fighting game. It’s a tribute to the original material. The characters have been given great animation, and even feature (most of) the original voice actors. While some are missing from the roster, the replacement voice actors do a remarkable job. The combat and most modes are what you would expect from an arcade fighter, but the story mode is a great addition that puts all the characters in the spotlight. It is somewhat short, though. It’s more like an episode of a show instead of an entire campaign. A good fighting game needs a strong community to succeed, so the coming months will show if Invincible VS will be a hit. But if what I played is anything to go by, I think most players who come to this release because they love the show, will stick around because they will also fall in love with this game.”

“Invincible VS delivers a fast-paced and accessible tag fighting experience that successfully captures the tone and brutality of its source material while offering solid mechanical depth for competitive play. Inspired by Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, the game stands out with fluid combat, strong character identity, and an engaging story mode, but its limited Season 0 roster and light content offering make it feel like an early foundation rather than a complete package.”

Overall, it’s a wonderfully fun fighter that oozes personality in keeping with the comics and show, offering a good entry point into tag fighters that’s equally fun for newbies and die-hards alike.”

“Invincible VS is a strong, feature-complete fighter that gets the fundamentals right and delivers a genuinely fun moment-to-moment experience. It is approachable on the surface, but there is more depth once you start digging into its defensive systems, and it stays consistently flashy in a way that makes even casual matches feel good to play. That said, it is still a bit rough around the edges, with some balance quirks and inconsistent visual clarity keeping it from feeling fully polished. As a first outing, it feels confident, aggressive, and fun in a very immediate way, with enough depth for both casual and competitive players to stick with it as it evolves.”

“The final part of the original trilogy looks and plays better than its previous two entries, but the cheap difficulty that was introduced sucks the fun out of Ninja Gaiden III. That said, the extra challenging US edition is now more beatable than ever thanks to save states and the rewind feature. By including the original Japanese version, too, there is every chance of getting through Ryu’s third NES adventure without the need to utilise the benefits of this Console Archives release.”

ImpulsegamerApr 30, 2026Score 80

“Tamadotchi Life: Living the Dream might not be the bold reinvention some fans hoped for, but it doesn't need to be to recapture the series' charm. Even with its missing legacy features and a few creative tools that don't quite hit the mark, it remains a wonderfully daft, personality‑driven sim that thrives on the unexpected. Perhaps what's most important, though, is that even after spending a serious amount of time with Living the Dream, it remained funny. It's the kind of game you dip into for ten minutes and suddenly find yourself grinning at a Mii having a meltdown or, well, trying to stop a Mii from making an ill-timed proposal to someone that's just not that into them. If you're willing to embrace its quirks and forgive its limitations, Living the Dream is a welcome, delightfully weird return to one of Nintendo's most eccentric worlds, and an even better introduction to those yet to familiarise themselves with the Tamadotchi universe.”

“Invincible VS is a great start. Quarter Up brought the characters, the mechanics, and an overall presentation that just might make Mortal Kombat fans blush. I really dig how many niches and specialties are represented in this pool, and it ends up making for a satisfying experience in both offline and online play, with solid netcode and crossplay systems to keep the fun going. I wish the story cutscenes weren’t jarring compared to the rest of the game’s animation, and that things like Sudden Death and Assist Break didn’t leave me feeling grumpy after a sweaty match, but I can’t deny I had a blast assembling teams and seeing how they matched up against the rest of the game. I found it hard not to read this as an opening chapter for Quarter Up and Invincible VS, and it's a good one.”
