TheSixthAxisApr 29, 2026Score 60

“Tides of Tomorrow is a good story that's alternately helped and hindered by its asynchronous multiplayer. It enables some compelling gameplay options but sometimes takes agency away from the player as relying on other players means you can't really do anything yourself a lot of the time. The story can also contradict itself sometimes due to the nature of the gameplay. It's enjoyable despite this, though it starts to outstay its welcome towards the end.”

“Despite recommending the experience, I have several reservations. Even though these points are common in the market, I believe there's an artistic tradition that should raise the bar for quality. The title intrigued me during the experience, but now I'm looking forward to a new game from the team that goes further, breaking free from a self-explanatory need that condescends to the player instead of provoking and challenging them.”

“The Day I Became a Bird is an atmospheric, minimalist game that revolves around experience rather than challenge. With its dreamy visual style, subtle sound design and poetic storytelling, the game transports you into a tranquil, interpretive experience. The focus is on atmosphere, emotion and discovery, which makes it special, but not equally accessible for every player.”

“All in all, Vampire Crawlers is a tremendous achievement. Everything here works almost flawlessly, with a gameplay loop that is quick, sharp, and smart. Genre transitions within the same game series rarely work so wonderfully, but Luca Galante and Poncle have created an incredible experience that will make you crave more, even if it overstays its welcome a tad for completionists.”

GamerFocusApr 29, 2026Score 75

“Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream tries not to stray too far from the 3DS formula, but it's far more interactive and doesn't rely solely on menus. Its first-person perspective draws the player closer to their Mii's life, although the repetitive sequences do eventually dampen the initial spark. Even so, it's a game with hilarious and equally bizarre touches, extensive customization options, and, with a good choice of Mii, it's sure to bring smiles and laughter to its players.”

“After around 20 hours of playtime, Saros turns out to be a solid Returnal 1.5 but unfortunately not much more than that. The new approach to the game structure and the inclusion of rather generic NPCs make the experience feel less mysterious and somewhat diluted compared to its outstanding predecessor. However, if you can live with a simpler story and are open to new gameplay ideas, you will definitely have just as much fun here as you did with Returnal.”

“Don't Nod is back, and they're doing it in style! Aphelion is a title we've come to appreciate for its top-notch storytelling, above-average scientific accuracy, and a thoroughly impressive technical execution. It's a game we'd recommend not only to sci-fi fans but also to anyone looking to enjoy a great adventure story—just the right length and with well-balanced difficulty. Finally, the price is the classic cherry on top of a delicious cake! It’s a shame that, unlike the developer’s other IPs, there won’t be a sequel.”
