A Pizza Delivery’s saving grace is definitely nestled into the narrative it manages to tell despite the wrinkles left in its design. The escapist fantasy on offer is one in which you can revisit the regrets of your past, and even if you can’t get a second chance at doing the right thing, maybe you can help other people not trek down the same road you did. This is a world in which you can find another stranger out in the lonely city, paralyzed by their own memories and freezing half to death. You can save them by reminding them that the only way out is forward, and maybe even warm them up with a nice slice of pizza.

Moonlighter 2 carves out its own place in gaming, being a mix of a delightful shop-keeping simulator, with its newly added action rogue-like mechanics to differentiate itself from the gameplay of the original. Every change over the original game was welcome to me, with deeper and more varied combat, and more engaging shop and town management. It’s a tale of two games, and Digital Sun Games has given us an improved and more rewarding experience across both.

Sheepherds feels most clearly directed towards families, but certainly not exclusively so. Between the cooperative nature of the game and its general lack of artificial urgency, I personally found Sheepherds perfect for playing with my significant other. I see no reason why a full group of friends couldn’t have a good time too, whether gathered around a couch or online. If you think that party games feel too active, and cozy games feel too passive, then Sheepherds will feel just right.

Gigasword is a mix of an old school art style, Metroidvania progression, Souls-like combat, and the addition of a weighted weapon that changes how you solve puzzles and platform. All together it makes for an interesting and enjoyable gameplay feel that I was happy to engage with for hours. I felt less enthused about the aimless backtracking, which could have been fixed with better signposting or a more nuanced map. While those issues did frustrate me, I still would recommend this to folks looking for a throwback to older titles, with an original twist to keep things fresh for the modern day.

Undusted: Letters from the Past is a satisfying mix of what it presents to the player, a lo-fi cozy cleaning game that leaves me wanting to clean things perfectly over and over, while also presenting a narrative about family that pulls at the heart. I enjoyed myself so much that I played it entirely in one session, about two hours in total, finding myself enraptured in the art, music, story, and gameplay of this fantastic game about cleaning up old things.

Formula Legends has a story mode that would keep fans entertained for hours and hours, but I really can’t imagine sinking the time it must take to trudge through that many races. Despite being an arcade racer, it’s a bit lacking in variety. It’s as if attention to detail is standing in the way of letting players off the leash. With the addition of co-op at the very least, and a complete overhaul of the handling mechanics, it might be a bit easier to recommend Formula Legends. Until then, for now, I’d suggest that you steer clear.

Overall, Escape From Duckov is a game that doesn’t have any jokes aside from the fact that you’re playing as a duck, but anyone who loves extraction shooters will probably enjoy it. All of the basic mechanics are there, alongside a base building progression that feels rewarding to go through. Retreading the same locations continuously can get tiring fast, though. The single-player nature makes this an experience you can shut your mind off to more than its multiplayer predecessors, but that doesn’t mean it’s a calming experience. If you enjoy the grind, this is a game you can take flight to.

Easy Delivery Co. is a game in which, ironically, your mileage may vary. If you’re easily frustrated by a game that leans a bit into clunkiness, you might want to pass. If, like me, you found the intentional blows to quality of life to enrich the experience, I would consider this an open recommendation. Easy Delivery Co. carries plenty of charm, but more than anything, it plunges players deep into a calming isolation. Loneliness can kill, but in this case, it’s a nice opportunity to crank up the radio and pretend like you have a full-time job.

While not the perfect game for someone searching for a lot of replayability, Hide the Corpse makes for a great VR puzzle game if you’re looking to race the clock and also have a good laugh. It thrives when playing alongside friends or family as you all work together to plot where to hide Gus’ body next.

With its charming hand-drawn animations and snappy, yet demanding gameplay, Alien Hominid HD is a game that has stood the test of time. The revitalization of this title in 2025 means that gamers who were born after the golden age of flash games can get a peek into the past and come across the origins of key gameplay mechanics that are standard issue in today’s gaming climate.

Outside of some rough edges, Among the Whispers – Provocation has a lot going for it. The things that stood out the most for me were the in-depth stories that were crafted for each individual family member that spans a rather large family tree. Keeping that in mind this excites me even more when I think about the prospect for future maps, families, and maybe even new ghost hunters. That said, with a large map available to the player I expected a lot more substance in the various rooms and corridors of this now vacant mansion.

Unless you have a group of friends that you trust to have a good time with, I can’t recommend playing Among Us 3D over the regular game. The player count seems to be quite minuscule compared to original, which makes sense considering there is no integration with console platforms here. Playing the game in first-person is really cool the first time, but you quickly see how you’re still playing the same game at the end of the day. I wish I knew other people that had the game so I could possibly have a better experience, but my time with Among Us 3D was nothing more than annoying and quite the waste of time spent hopping between lobbies just trying to find a decent game. I would say you’re much better off sticking with the 2D game over this.

Kiborg is an unapologetically fun and somewhat addictive beat-em-up title that I heavily enjoyed. The developers did a great job enhancing the combat, adding more upgrade paths, weapons, and enemies, and did a wonderful job adding more variety to the arenas. The main hindrances that Kiborg faces are the numerous bugs that I encountered and the lack of boss variety.

Haste: Broken Worlds is a game that thrives on its gameplay feel, even if there isn’t much outside of its main missions that might catch you. Zoe and the rest of the cast might not have caught my imagination from a story standpoint, but knowing I can return to this game at any time to get new procedurally generated levels is the highest selling point for this game. Listening to the music as you speed through courses with tons of obstacles thrown at you is a high octane rush that I wish I could get more of in video games.

Everhood 2 is an indie game that I can see a very niche group of people enjoying heavily. The music for the most part was really good, and I enjoyed the battling for what it was. Walking around these worlds being completely lost was not enjoyable to me. I would be interested to see how many ways this game branches off for players to have unique runs. I don’t think I have it in me to try another run through a campaign, but if it’s heavily tailored towards giving everyone a unique experience, that is definitely commendable.

Luck Be a Landlord may be entirely luck based, but it forces you to think carefully about the bets you make on it. The simple nature of it makes it something you can play for just a few minutes or get engrossed in for quite a bit longer. Learning the symbols and how they interact together is very rewarding when you get it to work properly and I appreciate learning when it is best to keep a symbol and when you should get rid of it or skip it all together.

Worlds of Aria is a fun experience to be had either solo or with a group. The number of choices and whimsical fantasy world are both compelling reasons to stick through the campaign to reach your heroic end. While the gameplay can be rather repetitive, it is very easy to understand and accessible to anyone, making it decent in my book. The true downfall of Worlds of Aria isn’t letting the Duke get the Staff of Wisdom, which kickstarts the campaign, but rather the clunky and periodically bugged UI that ruins the gameplay on Switch.

Squirrel with a Gun is a blast and harkens back to the days of old sandbox games that can keep you busy for hours thanks to its stupidity and silly gags. With that being said, there aren’t enough nuts in the game to keep me entertained outside of a few hours. While the gunplay is fun and puzzles are interactive, there is a lot missing from the game that could give players a reason to come back.

Crossy Road Castle is a fun time on console, especially with friends. The cooperative grind to get through as many rooms as possible will keep you coming back for more, but that’s about all this game offers. Overall, the content well here is very shallow, but the water it does have tastes very good.

Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland is a title that I came away from my first playthrough very frustrated. I found it far too easy to take damage, and while I love the HD art style, there were many times the levels just didn’t feel good to get through. Switching to the 8-bit style to find missing tokens was a little better because the janky gameplay matched the old graphic style. It’s not something that typically felt great, but it was more manageable.
