“Silver Pines is an excellent addition to the horror genre and a great choice for Halloween 2026. It’s quirky, immersive, terrifying, and thought-provoking. It succeeds where many games with larger budgets fail, earning its place among the best recent survival horror titles. The only horrifying aspect of the game is that it doesn’t have a more distinct identity and chooses to lean a little too strongly on its inspirations. The upside, however, is that it serves as a fantastic gateway drug into the surreal world of David Lynch’s brand of horror. The owls may not be what they seem, but Silver Pines absolutely is: it could be the next great horror game in your collection.”

“Absolutely, fans of the franchise must play Tales of Eternia, especially if they never got a chance to. This remaster includes some great quality of life improvements that help blend the old with the new without tarnishing the original vision. The game's age still comes through in many aspects, but the new additions help pave the way for a new audience to experience a long-sought franchise entry in the Tales of franchise.”

The onboarding and controller feel make reaching that point harder than it should be. If its particular brand of weirdness appeals to you, you might enjoy the visit. “While I enjoyed my time with Toy Story: Retro Roundup, I don’t expect this will be for everyone. I see this more as a museum display rather than a game collection and I feel Digital Eclipse feels the same way since that was clearly their intention. If you want to learn a thing or two about the early days of Traveller’s Tales before they became the go-to dev team for Lego games, then I’d suggest picking this up but if you’re more interested in the games on offer, I think you should just pick up an old PS1 copy of Toy Story 2 if you can find one and leave it at that.”

“Toy Story: Retro Roundup is a good collection for fans of the series and classic games, but at the same time, it is a missed opportunity to present these games the way they truly deserve. Despite the improvements and additions included, they remain limited and fail to address the most prominent issues of the original experience, particularly regarding controls and the camera. It would have been better to deliver a proper remake or remaster that develops these aspects and makes the games smoother and more enjoyable, while preserving their original spirit that made them memorable in players' minds.”

Latest: Tenebris Somnia

Bruno de Souza BomOct 15, 2026Score 90Pre-release Review

“Some investigation sequences can interrupt the pacing when we cannot immediately identify which item we need to use or combine. Although most puzzles are intuitive, I found myself stuck at certain points, trying to figure out what the game expected from me and revisiting areas that had nothing to do with the situation at hand. It is also difficult not to question some of the protagonist's decisions, especially given Ivan's disappearance and the lack of answers. Overall, these are minor limitations, accompanied by an additional consideration for those seeking to complete everything: missable achievements require careful attention to save files and campaign progression. These aspects could have been handled better, but they do not compromise the experience. On the other hand, Tenebris Somnia makes excellent use of its investigation mechanics. The ability to collect and combine items, discover new ways to interact with the environments, and tackle specific situations, such as the battle in the dark room, provides enough variety to maintain interest throughout the campaign. The narrative also gains momentum as we descend through the building's floors and learn more about Ivan's memories. Although combat plays a secondary role, boss encounters introduce distinct moments into the progression, while exploration and puzzles sustain most of the experience. The biggest highlight is the integration of gameplay and cinematic sequences. The live-action actors, practical effects, scene direction, and sound design contribute to an atmosphere that also works in the 2D sections, where the game demonstrates its ability to inspire fear without relying on filmed footage. The story, which revolves around a troubled relationship, cults, and disturbing events, gains strength by presenting conflicts that feel tangible. This is a testament to a script that sustains curiosity until the most unsettling moments, even across its multiple endings. Tenebris Somnia is an exceptionally competent production that delivers on its vision, featuring a distinctive visual identity, well-executed investigation mechanics, and a cinematic presentation that makes the experience particularly memorable.”
