There isn't really a story in the game, but there are eighteen missions that you can go through with Diego or his sister Ines. The missions are not very difficult, but entertaining enough if you can get the game for a small price.”

“In Zorro The Chronicles, you could reenact most of the scenes that aired on its original animation. Players can either choose to face the enemies up front or choose the quieter option to avoid any combat. The signature action of marking the opponents with the Z mark is also possible. Although the basic structure of the game is great, there seems to be too much bugs and the kid friendly auto-interactions disturb the overall experience. The details of Zorro throwing a smoke grenade when he depletes all of his health, and saying that he’ll definitely come back, is one of the key animations which creates the immersion all kids will appreciate.”

“I wish this game felt better to play; I wanted it to succeed. Unfortunately, there aren’t many people I can recommend Zorro The Chronicles to. If your child is a fan of the show, the game is worth picking up, but if you’re a more general fan of the Zorro franchise, it’s worth waiting for another outing – Zorro always rides again.”

“I was pleasantly surprised with how competent Zorro The Chronicles ended up being. It uses elements from both old-school Assassin’s Creed and Sniper Elite in an easy and forgiving environment, making this game the perfect gateway title for kids to learn how to deal with a stealth game. I never thought I’d play a Zorro game in 2022, let alone one as good as this one.”

“Zorro: The Chronicles is a below-average game made worse by a litany of bugs. From an unruly camera to the ease with which you can get stuck in the environment, it tests the player's willingness to stick with it. If you are lucky enough to make it through a play session without any of these issues, you'll find an unrefined combat system that's accompanied by a childish approach that aims younger than the ESRB rating. It has the bones to be a kid-friendly version of the Batman: Arkham series, but the execution is more than lacking, and you'll be hard-pressed to give this a shot unless you know someone who just discovered the series or can find this title on sale.”

It's a game made for children, which is why having a more simplistic edge may be useful, but the overall level of quality is perhaps not there. Although it gets the tone right, and things like its environmental takedowns are bound to cause a laugh for fans of the show, the overall game isn't quite as enjoyable as it could be.”
