While I can’t recommend Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer, the game is simply too novel a concept to not talk about and at the very least, deserves your attention. What you choose to do with this knowledge now is up to you.

Slayers X is an enjoyable but basic entry in the boomer shooter genre that manages to satisfy without excelling in any one area. The levels are fun to explore, the gunplay feels good, and the gags can be amusing in small doses. Even so, little things like the increasingly grating sense of humor and lack of gyro controls drag this one down a bit, while the core gameplay feels just a little too vanilla. We'd give Slayers X a recommendation, but with the caveat that you should probably first play through a few other old-school shooters before getting around to this one. It's pretty decent, but this isn't a top-shelf example of the genre.

It’s the kind of nonsense I’m just incredibly happy to see exist in the world, and the possibilities it offers for potential future games set in this universe has me on the hook.

Everyone has had their edgelord phase, whether they want to admit it or not. Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer is an explosion and poop-joke filled journey through those memories, and I loved it. Zayn is crude, and weird, and narcissistic, and way too easy to relate to - he's a reflection of a dorky teenage past, brought to the surface via a fast, fierce, and unforgettable shooter experience.

Slayers X is an FPS old school that engages and entertains from start to finish. His story, as simple as it is effective, offers a very detailed context. Furthermore, the gunplay, the approach and the various methods for dealing with enemies are the real spearhead of the work. Must have absolutely.

Impressive efforts with a few noticeable problems holding them back. Won't astound everyone, but is worth your time and cash.

Everything about Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer is insane, and that's why it's so much fun. Though its content can feel a little sparse, you'll be grinning from ear-to-ear the whole time with this boomer shooter. (Review Policy)

I expected to love Slayers X: Terminal Aftermath: Vengance of the Slayer, but the teen humour is painful and the shooting is just okay.
