Skin Deep brings a fresh spin to immersive sims with its witty, comical tone throughout both gameplay and story. Its levels are approachable, short, and rarely demanding, allowing you to let out your silly side without risking too much progress. Although the campaign is a little short and the humour won’t be for everyone, Blendo Games has crafted something genuine and charming that I would recommend to anyone.

Skin Deep is a one-of-a-kind experience. It’s an immeowsive-sim game that doesn’t take itself seriously at all, leading to a unique and exciting stealth adventure. The responsive system drives the game, giving you a ton of flexibility in otherwise limiting scenarios, which leads to some hilarious shenanigans. Also, cats!

There's a lot of fun to be had in Skin Deep, its entertaining and highly amusing story coupled with some clever and creative stealth action. Come for the head popping, stay for the cat love.

Skin Deep is one of the most original immersive sims ever: it doesn't put us in the shoes of a tortured hero, but in the bare feet of Nina Pasadena, an insurance saleswoman tasked with saving space cats. Every mission can be accomplished in the craziest way we can conceive: it's not just about acting in stealth or hacking computers. Originality and improvisation are always rewarded. Skin Deep is definitely a breath of fresh air for the immersive sim genre.

This attempt to cosy-fi an immersive sim game is full of 'zany' gags as you rescue cats from a spaceship, but it gets a bit too saccharine

Skin Deep is an indulgent masterclass in immersive sim shenanigans, but lacks a standout level you'll be telling friends about for years.

While rewarding creativity like any great game in its genre should do, Blendo Games' Skin Deep also offers a refreshingly lighthearted take on the immersive sim.

Skin Deep is a neat, little game that takes recognizable gameplay conventions from immersive sims and repackages them into something smaller and sillier.

Skin Deep cleverly utilizes dozens upon dozens of different gameplay systems and interactions to build a fun, immersive sim that feels great to play. The art and visuals are suited to the comical tone, and there's always more secrets to find. Crashing and instability is a problem, though, especially toward the end of the story.

Skin Deep is a wild, fun, and inventive immersive sim, rewarding creative thinking and playful exploration. Its unique look and comical approach to gameplay make it a memorable experience, despite a few mechanical issues and overloaded moments. If you love Blendo Games' offbeat signature style, blast off into this universe where cats are the real stars and space pirates are disposable entertainment.
