Launch Window“SNOW BROS. 2 SPECIAL modernizes another of Toaplan's arcade classics, this one much less known in the West than its first installment. We can play the original arcade version or the remake, with several new features such as additional levels or new game modes and online multiplayer. It's a real treat for nostalgic fans and Toaplan fans, but its design reflects a different era and any new player should take this into account.”

Launch Window“Snow Bros. 2 Special is a title that will likely bring a smile to anyone with fond memories of arcade classics. While the experience is somewhat held back by a clunky interface and limited, unintuitive option settings, there's still plenty to enjoy. The faithfully recreated original mode is a nice touch, and the remake adds fresh value with newly designed stages, updated boss patterns, and a diverse roster of playable characters and modes that make the game feel both nostalgic and new.”

Launch Window“Snow Bros. 2 Special doesn't earn its return after over thirty years. While the game has a unique premise that is somewhat enjoyable at first, the lack of any meaningful gameplay adjustments, an uninteresting story, and insufficient replayability options make it more infuriating than fun. Combined with the lack of any interesting additions, a three-hour long runtime, and a $30 pricetag, Snow Bros. 2 Special is a hard game to recommend.”
