“Despite issues like an unnecessary maze and out-of-place sci-fi premise, Deer & Boy is an adorable narrative adventure that I would recommend. Some of the puzzles are a bit confusing due to a lack of visual cues, but the puzzle gameplay is rewarding for the most part.”

“Thank You For Your Application constructs the dystopia of Aeropolis City through highly entertaining satire. However, the tone is at times too light-hearted, which detracts from the immersive experience. The gameplay is very strong in the first part of the game, but becomes rather sluggish towards the end, where there is very little in the way of new content. Furthermore, the job interviews feel more like the border checks in Papers, Please than genuine candidate assessments, and we would have appreciated a deeper exploration of the selection mechanics that are already present but limited to brief special sections.”

It expands Dave’s relationship with a cast of emotive beings and sets the stage for Bancho the Chef (coming hopefully sooner rather than later). “Tabletop Tavern is a brilliant mix of RTS wargaming and the roguelike formula, as well as an incredible feat for a solo developer. However, it lacks the much-needed strategic depth and faction variety, and the current build starts to feel stale before long. With the developer working hard to update the game, you can rest assured it will evolve from its current state, though it still feels like an Early Access title in every way but the name.”
