Use a Potion Staff at Use a Potion

Aug 16, 2026 | Score 90

“Sovereign Tower is a brilliant time sink that successfully merges the stress of a management sim with a deeply reactive roleplaying game… I loved it. Whether you want to be a benevolent monarch, a time-manipulating tyrant, or just wing it and hope for the best, it is an absolute blast to play. It’s unique, it’s rewarding, and it’s a ton of fun, but take my advice: try to go into it as blind as possible, because the surprising scenarios (and the many ways they can play out) make for some of the game’s most special moments.”

“MineGeon: Renegades is an attempt at a very popular genre, clearly made by developers who are familiar with it and genuinely love it. The game almost lands the spaceship, but it ultimately falls flat because of its weak onboarding. If mechanics were explained to the player directly, the overall experience might land better than it does. It is filled with beautiful pixel art, wonderful music, and fun characters. If you enjoy bullet-hell games, I could recommend giving it a shot—though perhaps wait until you have nothing else in your backlog to play!”

“There is something incredibly satisfying about watching a plant slowly emerge and grow, and then seeing a customer walk in and decide it is exactly what they have been looking for. Leafy Corner takes the simple idea of a plant shop and turns it into a cosy business management sim that is easy to lose hours to. Instead of chasing profits through stress and time limits, it lets you learn about real plants, decorate a beautiful little shop, and enjoy the quiet rhythm of running your own business. Few cosy management games make learning feel this natural. Leafy Corner quietly teaches you about real plants while giving you meaningful choices about what to grow, what to sell, and how to build your shop. It is charming, thoughtful, and surprisingly relaxing, even when a few of the ruder customers decide your recommendation was apparently the worst thing they have ever heard...”

“Midnight Moments is a cozy diorama builder that perfectly captures the atmosphere of a cyberpunk world with its gorgeous visuals, relaxing gameplay, and satisfying creative freedom. Its simple, challenge-free approach makes it easy for players of any skill level to jump in and create detailed miniature cityscapes while enjoying the soothing ambience of rain-soaked neon streets. Although the limited selection of placeable items and occasionally awkward camera controls leave room for improvement, neither issue overshadows the game's core appeal. If you are looking for a relaxing creative experience, Midnight Moments is an easy recommendation for anyone who wants to unwind by building the cyberpunk hideout of their dreams.”

“Village in the Shade successfully blends rural life simulation with horror, giving both sides enough depth to stand on their own. During the day, players tend crops, care for livestock, and gradually expand their homestead. After midnight, the familiar village transforms into an unsettling place filled with spirits and hidden mysteries. Its life-simulation elements provide a satisfying sense of progression, while the horror elements twist the warmth of everyday life into something strange and spooky. Neither side feels secondary to the other, making the game a compelling choice for players looking for a familiar rural-life experience with a darker, more unusual edge. if you move to Kagatsu Village, remember one thing: after 11 p.m., don’t stay home.”
