“Overall, I don’t regret embarking on this adventure—there were a few puzzles I genuinely enjoyed—but by the time the story reached its conclusion, I was left with a slightly bitter aftertaste. As far as I can tell, this is Homo Narrans Studio’s first game, so congratulations to them nonetheless, and I wish them all the best going forward. I’m curious to see what they come up with next.”

Toon Borremans at Gaming Boulevard

Jan 23, 2026 | Score 100

“Hollow Knight: Silksong is the perfect sequel. It’s bigger and better in every way imaginable. The world of Pharloom is a joy to explore, despite the added challenges of boss fights and platforming. The split currency can be frustrating at times, but patches have mostly fixed the problem, and resolving this imbalance wouldn’t make sense in the context of the story. The addition of a voiced protagonist in the form of Hornet also enhances the immersion in this world, and once Pharloom has its hooks in you, it won’t let go. The game may be difficult to master, but with enough practice, you can work your way through and even slay gods.”

For now, though, the developers haven’t fully tapped into the possibilities of their game. The core gameplay is extremely satisfying, and the Nordic atmosphere fits perfectly. What I can’t understand, however, is why the brutality has been toned down so much. Unfortunately, that drawback casts a shadow over the overall experience.”

“Hirogami is a beautiful homage to the ancient Japanese art of paper folding but it doesn't forget that entertaining gameplay is just as important for a good game as its pretty visuals. On my first playthrough of the levels, I had to restrain myself from being too meticulous, as there's usually a mission hidden behind abilities you don't yet possess. However, because the game and levels aren't particularly long I never felt annoyed about having to revisit certain sections. In fact I looked forward to it. The story is pretty basic but that's totally fine and the game runs flawlessly from a technical standpoint without throwing up any unnecessary obstacles.”

“flOw is still a good game, but its presence means different things, depending on the platform you're playing it on. On the Vita, it represents the better port of the PS3 game when compared to the older PSP release due to the better graphics and the presence of motion controls. On the PS4, it only benefits those who have just joined the PlayStation family, as the experience is largely unchanged from the PS3. The cross-buy option means PS3 owners will have this version either way, but unless you need a trophy boost or are a big enough fan of thatgamecompany that you need to play every available version, PS3 vets who have moved to the new console can know they aren't missing any improvements.”
