RuneScape: Dragonwilds

RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Release Date: Apr 15, 2025
-11.1

Latest Review

Laura Rosada at Indie Games Devel

Jul 10, 2025 | Score 60

“RuneScape: Dragonwilds is an ambitious project, with intriguing ideas and a potentially rich world. The visuals are clean, the fantasy setting is captivating, and there’s no shortage of concepts, from runic magic to co-op play, from special abilities to advanced crafting. But the execution falls short. The universal stamina system, excessive cooldowns, restrictive spell mechanics, and unbalanced co-op design make the experience feel more punishing than rewarding. As it stands, Dragonwilds seems tailored to a very specific audience: hardcore survival fans willing to endure structural issues in exchange for future potential. For everyone else, even long-time RuneScape lovers, this is a title worth keeping an eye on, but not quite ready to play.”

“It's a strong entry in terms of visuals and design, but the lack of any depth really does drag this racer down a little. Casual Brothers clearly have the technical wizardry to create a very cool karting game, but there’s not quite enough on the bone here to make it a must-play recommendation. That said, the 60fps gameplay, and familiarity of design does mean that this does absolutely have its pluses for perhaps a younger group of players.”

“Forever Skies is a vivid, inventive survival game that turns its airship sandbox into a memorable centerpiece: research‑driven progression, satisfying scavenging loops, and a compact, emotionally resonant narrative deliver many standout moments. The score reflects a game with bold ideas and strong atmosphere that’s hampered by a handful of fixable issues; quality‑of‑life regressions (notably the removal of player signs), persistent pop‑ins and stutter in dense areas, and clunky UI/controls; that currently limit its multiplayer and long‑term appeal. With targeted QoL, performance, and UX patches, this could easily climb into the 9s.”
