“Glover was an ambitious and unique concept back in 1998. Ultimately, it's where the game should remain. It is a shame - with improved controls and tweaks to the design, it could have shown the concept in its best possible light. The badge of a "remaster" really does not qualify as the Nintendo Switch edition feels very much a cash-grab that's building on Nintendo nostalgia. Unless you've got a fondness for Glover, it's difficult to recommend diving into this Nintendo 64 gem in 2025.”

Even in early access, it offers a polished and engaging experience that rewards curiosity and experimentation. If you enjoy deck-builders but want something that feels fresh, or if you’re looking for a roguelike that values planning over speed, this is well worth your time. I doubt you'll finish it again, given the linear puzzles you'll eventually encounter. Completing the bonus levels doesn't offer the satisfaction you might crave, so completing it will be sufficient. Quality-wise, the game has virtually no loading times, runs smoothly, and there are no DualSense features or anything like that to be expected. Ultimately, the game looks atmospheric, the gameplay is excellent, and the light puzzle elements are innovative and addictive. I highly recommend Desvelado to any fan of simple puzzle-platformers.”

With a visual style inspired by 90s gaming and a sound design that instills tension at every moment, the game succeeds in creating a claustrophobic and disturbing atmosphere that supports its allegorical story of identity and self-destruction. Despite limited resources and some technical shortcomings, the powerful narrative, art direction, and tense music more than make up for it. “X-Out: Resurfaced is a faithful and well-crafted revival of a classic Amiga shmup. While it doesn’t reinvent the genre, it successfully modernizes the original with refined graphics, smoother gameplay, and quality-of-life improvements. The remastered soundtrack and optional co-op mode make it more accessible, and the fleet-building system adds depth rarely seen in side-scrolling shooters. For fans of classic shmups, this is a must-play—a lovingly restored slice of gaming history.
