This isn't the least pricey shmup option out there. But for the asking price, R Type Delta: HD Boosted delivers value for money. The game looks good, sounds good, and has replayability. If you like a shmup, go get this one.

Lost Eidolons: Veil of the Witch may get off to a slow start, but the level grinding as you build up proficiency does bring some pleasant rewards. It may not be quite perfect, and many of the themes are "tried and true", but this is a solid entry in the roguelike RPG genre.

If detail management is not your cup of tea, your experience with Cladun X3 may end in frustration. With that considered, this is a very well-built action adventure that provides enough fun and depth to occupy dedicated players for quite a while.

KEMCO's very old-school dungeon crawler, Dragon Ruins, is available in the eShop for a mere $8.99. If you need a little dungeon-crawler distraction and don't mind exploring deeper than many retro fans will be brave enough to attempt, this game is a good, unique option.

Power Sink is a clever, underwater puzzle/platformer with nice visuals and intriguing gameplay. Puzzle fans will enjoy the game's built-in logic, but a host of glitches will sink the overall experience for many of those willing to take the dive.

The roguelike, deck-based dungeon builder Into the Restless Ruins may not be a big budget spectacle, but strategy game fans will find it a solid addition to their game library.

Skies Above provides some pure and simple arcade action fun. It looks nice, has a straightforward (albeit quite unique) premise, features simple gameplay mechanics, and challenges the player to keep pushing further than the last time.

Overall, Rogue Waters is a good roguelite, turn-based combat game withs some interesting mechanics and features. It looks good and sounds OK. Some elements are a bit predictable, but I suppose you get that with a bunch of pirates.

I wanted to like Dead Dragons when I read the specs and the premise, and the game does do what it claims. But this retro RPG from KEMCO needs some improvements before I can give it an endorsement.

Dreamless does what it should to get the player from the beginning to the end, but it very nearly actually put me to sleep playing it. If you really want a horror game, keep looking.

If you're willing to get into the turn-based RPG combat of VED, it isn't bad. But because of the relatively slow action sequences and some of the script and voice directing choices, it never really pulled me in where I could lose track of time playing it.

Even if you're not a fan of the show, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind is still a good game as far as multiplayer arcade fighters go. If you ARE a fan of the show, you'll really want to add this to your library.

I initially thought Billy Bumbum: A Cheeky Puzzler looked a bit silly, definitely juvenile, and a bit questionable as a game. After playing, it is a bit silly and definitely juvenile, but (there's always a "but", right?) it's rather a good puzzle game with enough whimsy to keep it from overwhelming the less puzzle proficient.

If you really like platformers, Jello can provide a bit of a unique challenge with the level layout and more so with the non-standard movement controls. I had a bit of a hard time getting into it, but if you're fine with grinding a level until you can run it quickly, and you like getting your name on a leaderboard, then there is some fun to be had with this game.

Morbid: The Lords of Ire is another in a long line of fighter games trying to be gory for gore's sake. Although it's mostly well done, there's not much to differentiate it from the rest of the pack. Its visual quirks can be ignored, but it still seems to be a little less than what it could be.

If you find a seed of promise in the silly title of Epic Dumpster Bear 1.5 DX: Dumpster Fire Rebirth, you will not be disappointed in the least. This enhanced version of the Wii U game must be played in earnest if you want to complete the levels, and the healthy balance of challenge and whimsy will make it a quite endearing addition to your game library.

Wrath: Aeon of Ruin is a well-made game with a classic first-person shooter look and feel. There is some story to be had, but we're really here to kill freaky critters and save the world, right?

When a game's basic movement mechanics become a source of frustration and annoyance, it usually just isn't worth the hassle. Even if you are used to digital gymnastics and you really like a retro looking 2D platformer, Cybertrash STATYX is an option you can take or leave.

The turn-based card battler Reigns: Three Kingdoms may not be exactly what you think when you first start, but it's a good game worth adding to your deck-building library.

I generally like deck-building, turn-based strategy games, but I had a hard time really getting into Rising Lords. It isn't bad-with special nods to the visuals and overall playing time-but the clunky controls and overly busy mechanics prevent it from being all it could be.
