“Mixtape's style, soundtrack and unique storytelling flair all combine to elicit feelings both new and long forgotten. Simple moments make you appreciate life for what it is: a continuous evolution rather than a static state of being. Our adolescent selves relished in that freedom, and Mixtape seeks to recapture the magic.”

Everyeye.itMay 7, 2026Score 75

“Neverness To Everness is perhaps a bit too ambitious, trying to do a bit of everything without truly excelling in any one aspect. All the game's components are enjoyable, but none of them really stand out, and you end up appreciating the variety rather than the quality. All of this translates into an experience that's certainly fun for the first few hours, but risks faltering when trying to sustain interest over the long term. Now it's up to the developers to succeed with post-launch support that can both add content and improve upon what's already available.”

“The single-player content can be completed in a day or two, but the online play is what will keep players coming back for more. Just like the source material, it doesn’t shy away from all the violence and gore, adding to the intensity of a match. The base roster of 18 characters gives plenty of variety for your team of 3, the gameplay is fun and chaotic, and the online play is smooth and solid. How long it remains relevant in the FGC, only time will tell, but it is a solid entry for the fighting genre and a strong first game by Quarter Up.”

Checkpoint GamingMay 6, 2026Score 90

“Wax Heads makes you feel like you are part of this safe, wholesome, creative world of Repeater Records, surrounded by alternative and queer folk who just want to keep rockin’ as long as they can. Finding records for people is fun, but also challenging, so you’ll have to not only scour Repeater’s records, but watch cutscenes, search through your apps, and pay attention to the customer’s vibe. For someone who grew up in 90s indie record stores, longing to hear something that would change my teen life, Wax Heads really cultivates an atmosphere of curiosity, love and respect for musical communities, and how much better music is when it involves human connection.”

Gamer Social ClubMay 6, 2026Score 65

“Aphelion is a fine action-adventure game. I use “action” loosely here as there isn’t that much action, but there is more than we are used to in a Don’t Nod title. With a solid enough story there is enough to get invested in here. But with game play mechanics that faulter more than they work, and a final third of the game that drags on far too long, it’s hard to recommend Aphelion to anyone other than the die hard Don’t Nod fans.”

Nintendo LifeMay 6, 2026Score 80Pre-release Review

“Tethergeist is a great precision platformer. A flat narrative and some small visual bugs somewhat muddy the waters, but it's filled with fresh ideas. The tether mechanic at its core tests your reflexes and brains in equal measure, and I found myself always on the hunt for the Atropa Blossoms. Between those levels, I found a lot of fun in interacting with villagers across the world.Perfectly paced, no one mechanic overstays its welcome, and it felt like it ended at the perfect time, around 10 hours in length. I'm not a completionist, but I can definitely see myself picking away at some collectibles. And if they ever drop a challenge level pack, testing my knowledge of all the tethers? I'll be there day one.”

“Wax Heads ultimately shares the same central conflict as Empire Records, in which an independent shop is at risk of being bought up by a soulless corporation, but the interactive elements of this game really emphasize just how much there is to lose beyond one’s job. Music conjures powerful, immediate emotions, but it’s the game’s masterful story about how that music brings audiences together that produces all the lingering, magical feels.”

Latest: Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred

GameBlastMay 5, 2026Score 90

“With Lord of Hatred, Blizzard demonstrates that it has learned from the criticism it received and that Diablo IV still has much to offer. It's not just about piling more content on top of an existing base, but about additions that engage with what the game already did best and correct what was still lacking. And like any expansion for a game focused on the long term, part of its value depends on how much time the player is willing to invest in post-game content and how much they want to "profit" from what can be obtained through the seasons and events system.”
