Early Review

Baki Hanma Blood Arena is a gamble that offers very little and fails to achieve a passing grade. Aside from the atmosphere, masterfully rendered by the team, the rest of the game presents several difficult-to-fill flaws. The combat system is interesting, but at the same time it's unnerving because it requires you to memorize every single enemy pattern. The main problem, however, is when completely random elements are added without any explanation, especially in a fighting game where practice and knowledge of the core mechanics are a must.

Overall this DLC could've been a really good product, but the lackluster plot, and the overly short length of this DLC it's just enough for me to not recommend it.

Artis Impact is definitely a title with a lot of soul and little substance, with an artistic side created by a talented person and a gameplay side that is not entirely clear how it was conceived, but all in all, it's not a title that I would advise against, because if you buy it during a sale or out of pure curiosity about its artistic side, it can provide about ten very enjoyable hours. (Except for the gameplay, which might make you hate it).

Shantae Advance Risky Revolution isn't just a game, it's a piece of gaming history finally coming to life. For longtime fans, it's a unique opportunity to play a lost chapter of the saga. For new players, it's a great introduction to the world of Shantae, with its Metroidvania gameplay, unique art style, and lighthearted humor.

Quartet doesn’t aim to reinvent the JRPG, and that’s precisely where its strength lies. By embracing turn-based combat, careful resource management, and a strong ensemble narrative, it delivers an experience that feels both familiar and thoughtfully modern. Its four intertwined stories are well written, tonally coherent, and rich with emotional weight. The combat system rewards planning and experimentation, avoiding both monotony and superficial spectacle. While exploration and music show some limits, they rarely undermine the overall experience. Quartet stands as a heartfelt tribute to classic JRPGs, confident enough to honor its roots while carving out an identity of its own.

The bizarre shooter developed by Velan Studio is an ambitious title that seeks to stand out from the mass of PvP games that have been saturating the market for a few years now. Midnight Murder Club is an interesting game, capable of entertaining, especially with friends. Unfortunately, due to its limitations, primarily due to the lack of a strong community, it fails to fully express itself, making matches too similar to each other, which inevitably leads to monotony over time.

The title plays on the timeless charm of Arkanoid-like games, a guaranteed success for the nostalgia effect of all those who have found themselves entangled for hours and hours shooting colored balls from the bottom up on more or less intricate vertical levels.

Wild Hearts S is a testament to the Nintendo Switch 2 potential, as it runs well enough in handheld mode despite releasing so early in the console life cycle, especially for a third party title. It can't be considered a threat to Monster Hunter's throne in this genre, but it certainly could be a good choice for those who prefer handheld gaming, especially if they haven't played it on other platforms.

A monumental RPG that still deserves respect, but this so-called enhanced edition does little to honor its legacy. A return made for veterans, not newcomers.

Are you truly ready to take responsibility for your actions? This is the question raised by S.p.l.i.t, and it also serves as a perfect demonstration of what a single visionary mind can achieve when blending aesthetics, coding, and soundtrack. Mike Klubnika crafts an alienating work that is almost impossible to judge by modern video game standards — completely outside of current norms, time, and logic. Short, intense, disturbing, and eloquent in its minimalist silence. A product capable of completely disorienting the player, perfect for those seeking something truly different.

It's truly difficult to give Pokémon Friends a solid positive review, especially given the high retail price compared to the offerings the developers have put forward. And the mobile version suffers the most, as it has too many progression limitations in the free version alone. The activities, while fun, become repetitive over time, which affects progression. At least, collecting Pokémon in the form of plush toys and the variety of puzzles are the only positive aspects, even if the latter might seem very simple to solve to an experienced puzzle gamer, unless the difficulty is increased. It remains to be seen in the long run whether Pokémon Friends will be able to introduce, with any future updates, something that will engage the audience, providing at least a minimal incentive to continue. Given the current state of things, Pokémon Friends doesn't do enough to earn a good rating, though it certainly isn't a complete failure.

Somber Echoes is, by all means, a good metroidvania and a good game, bringing the player into a well designed world that combines sci-fi elements with Greco-Roman mythology. It's just that, after exploring the halls of its doomed spaceship and meeting gods and reality-bending entities, it cannot seem to take the final step to excellence.

In summary, The Drifter offers accessible yet not simplistic gameplay, where every interaction serves to heighten the atmosphere and support the narrative. It stands as proof that, in an era when graphic adventures seemed destined to remain a nostalgic memory, titles like this one mark a vibrant revival of the genre, especially within the indie scene. The protagonist is a tormented man, closed off from the world, a prisoner of his own ghosts and haunting regrets. He is portrayed with remarkable depth: hopeless, crushed by past mistakes, and reluctantly forced to start over. It’s a surprisingly intimate portrayal for a graphic adventure that is just as surprising, beautiful, and absolutely unmissable.

Neon Abyss 2 is an unapologetically intense roguelike that cranks everything up from the first game. It adds an arsenal of wild weapons, evolving pet mechanics (Hatchmons), and a strategic Faith system that shapes each run. The new 4-player co-op mode injects pure multiplayer chaos, elevating the whole experience. Visually sharper and content-packed it’s a delirious, fast-paced explosion of color, combos, and challenge. However, it’s not for the faint-hearted: heavy RNG, overwhelming systems, and a brutal pace can frustrate. Some bosses feel reused, and the sheer volume of features might drown less experienced players. If you’re into hectic roguelikes with absurd build potential and nonstop action, Neon Abyss 2 is a wild, worthy ride. Just don’t expect mercy.

Antro is a work that dares. It shouts a powerful message through its soundtrack in a world that has stopped listening. The opening is striking, the artistic direction is captivating, and the use of music as the backbone of the narrative is undoubtedly original and powerful. However, when theory turns into practice, the game struggles to bear the weight of its ambitions. The repetitive and unpolished gameplay, the limited evolution of its mechanics, and various technical issues end up overshadowing an experience that could have left a much deeper mark — a goal that, for now, remains out of reach. It's a title that earns appreciation more for what it represents than for how it delivers it. And perhaps that's its greatest flaw: fascinating from afar, but fragile up close.

Scar-Lead Salvation is the perfect example of how NOT to treat the theme of time loops. The narrative turns out to be flat and unstimulating, failing to express the potential of this expedient. The gunplay is repetitive and poorly calibrated, weighing down the shooting phases. The environments lack originality, with rooms that are all the same. The enemies, then, are anonymous and constantly repeat themselves, varying only in color and the weapon they use. The bosses try to break this monotony in some way, but the path to follow to reach them turns out to be tedious, in addition to the fact that they are three in total. Scar-Lead Salvation tries to replicate Returnal, failing miserably.

Trident's Tale is a pirate Adventure that, drawing on some well-known works in the videogame scene, presents itself as a light and at times light-hearted experience, with a quiet story without particolar depth in terms of direction and characters, and a simple and immediate gameplay. 3DClouds' work offers on the plate a half-succesful work: on the one hand there is a good exploratory component, a good progression system and nice and heterogeneous environmental puzzles; on the other hand the various technical problems regarding the camera view and the collisions stain the feeling of the combat system, which is also basically functional despite being shallow.
