Go Mecha Ball is a challenging game that will keep you wanting to try again. However, if you lose, you start back at square one, which can be frustrating.

Has some good ideas, and you adapt to its unusual style, but it can be tough to love

Go Mecha Ball brings a chaotic and fun concept, combining shooting, roguelike and pinball mechanics in a intriguing way. Thanks to its fast gameplay and satisfying challenges, the title can offer good entertainment moments. However, the absence of more variety in the roguelike elements plus the frustrations from moving around and the unstable performance on Switch severely compromise the general experience.

Go Mecha Ball certainly has its flaws, but where it aims to shine, it truly does—and that's in its fun gameplay.

Go Mecha Ball offers a mixture of fast-paced shooter and speed game that will please arcade gameplay lovers. Good scenery design, many enemies and the need to think are, along with its terrible agility, the pillars of an experience that does not discover anything new but serves for what its authors want to tell.

Ignoring its small flaws, Go Mecha Ball is a fast rogue-like shooting game that will occupy you for hours.

Luckily, the action is a compelling reason. The replayability of Go Mecha Ball comes purely from how much fun it is. A handful of ending scenes are available after multiple completions, but these cartoon-y, still images won't rank among the best games with multiple endings, and the first completion on max difficulty unlocks a unique upgrade. But these rewards don't amount to much. Nevertheless, players will likely pick up the game again and again because it just feels that good. Though imperfect, there's simply nothing quite like Go Mecha Ball out there, and it deserves to be experienced.

Yes, Go Mecha Ball can be tough but it's also one of the most immediately gratifying and unique indie formulas that I've seen in years.

Go Mecha Ball is a great arcade game that gets straight to the point, rewards the player who takes risks, and always rewards games with more advantageous progression than usual in a roguelike. Its duration is perfect for those who want to get into this type of game without investing the huge number of hours demanded by the references of the genre.

Go Mecha Ball is a fast paced, fantastic twin stick Roguelike, and as long as you don't mind a lack of items early on you'll have a great time with it.

Early Review

Go Mecha Ball is great at delivering fast-paced action thanks to its collision combat. You constantly balance rolling into enemies and firing with your weapons while dodging attacks. The enemies you face constantly attack you and the boss battles are challenging. The game isn't perfect, as it constantly forces the tutorial on you and you sometimes spend too much time chasing enemies. But for a game that gives you a quick action fix, it's hard to dislike Go Mecha Ball's frantic pace.

Early Review

Go Mecha Ball excites with its curious mix of shooting and pinball-inspired concepts. The big highlight is the fast-paced action that requires switching between robot and sphere to attack, interrupt opponents, avoid dangers and reach distant locations. Despite being inventive, the title presents some problems. The pinball-inspired action is sometimes so imprecise that it disrupts pacing; the reduced visual contrast makes it difficult to identify dangers; and, as a roguelike, the game offers very simple content that brings a feeling of repetition in the medium term. In short, Go Mecha Ball offers a fun and unique arcade experience, although there is room to enrich its ideas.
