Late Review

xtremely Powerful Capybaras is definitely the kind of game that you can pick up and play for 20 minutes whenever you want. But you can also lose yourself for hours. If the game cost $19.99, I would say it’s a steal because I put in around 10 hours during my first week because it was mindless fun. But the game costs $5.99, that’s an insane price for something that’s this addicting. It’s even better if you add some friends to your game.

While it's impossible to recommend Extremely Powerful Capybaras over any of the giants in the genre, it could act as a competent "my first auto-roguelike-bullet heaven" game. It's light on content and the repetitive nature may grate on some, but the colourful art style and inclusion of co-op are a saving grace, and I could see if added to the rotation for family game night.

Late Review

Extremely Powerful Capybaras is a cheerful but sloppy Vampire Survivors clone. The colorful style and co-op are fun, but bugs, lack of depth, and a weak console port make this capybara adventure too light and flawed.

An adorable Survivors-like that casts you as a capybara, Extremely Powerful Capybaras is fast-paced, frantic and downright fun. A few performance issues hold it back a little, but this is still a moreish roguelike you'll find yourself being drawn back to time and time again.

Limited and buggy, Extremely Powerful Capybaras is the ugly cousin of Vampire Survivors that becomes tiresome long before it even provides minimal fun.

Late Review

Extremely Powerful Capybaras is an enjoyable co-op romp for up to 4 players, making for a chaotic but fairly stylish bullet heaven experience. Taken as a solo game or comparing it to its much more ambitious contemporaries, however, it does very little to stand out, and its basic gameplay doesn’t quite hold the depth necessary to warrant many repeat runs

Launch Window

Hopefully Extremely Powerful Capybaras serves as a cautionary tale for developers who want to hit that 1.0 release as soon as possible. There’s no shame in publishing an Early Access game, in fact, it gives you a lot more leniency that a full release wouldn’t have otherwise.
