Inferno is a weird amalgamation of the first Let it Die and Deathverse, attempting to merge them into a PvPvE experience that ends up being for nobody. Maybe it’s time we simply Let it Die.

Regardless, I firmly believe that the developers at AdHoc are pretty much only competing with their past work at Telltale, as bigger studios like Quantic Dream still fail to match their writing quality despite having ten times the budget. I’m quite excited to see what a season 2 for the game will look like, alongside any other titles AdHoc creates in the future, hopefully suffering from fewer growing pains and with a much higher budget considering how well Dispatch has been received.

Blade Chimera is a solid title if you want a short game that goes down easy. The exploration is incredibly smooth, the visuals are fantastic, and the plot is surprisingly gripping. If you are a fan of Metroidvanias or just want to try a game that does most things right, give Blade Chimera a shot.

It’s exciting to watch them build this shared fable universe in real time, and even though we don’t know what’s next for them as developers, it’s difficult to imagine it being less than excellent.

Speed Freeks is bleeding out players fast, and it doesn’t feel like it’ll be long before all matches are filled with bots. The game has some great characters and environment designs, as well as a very fun customization system, but the bot-filled online-only matches make it a difficult title to recommend.

Players willing to put up with some repetitive exploration and rough enemy placements will be rewarded with fun boss fights and weapons that are exciting to use, but for the most part, AI Limit feels like a chore to play.

If you enjoy typing or unconventional survival horror games, you should give Blood Typers a try. There’s something surprisingly fun about its mixture of genres, as it manages to be an incredibly smooth and chaotic experience even when played solo.

Plastomorphosis starts out as a rough but tolerable survival horror game, and slowly morphs into a test of patience propped up by tedious gameplay, a bad fixed camera system, obtuse puzzles and painful exploration.

Abyss has a fun gameplay loop, held together by well-thought-out roguelike systems and a massive cast of characters for players to try out. This is a game that does a genre mixture quite well, being a treat for both Musou and roguelike fans without alienating Koei’s core audience.

Typing of the Net and Endless Nightmare are possibly novel experiences for those who are really into Needy Streamer Overload and simply want more of its characters, but as someone who is not that invested into the series, it just sort of falls flat as a below average typing game and a mostly alright 2D platformer.

Enchantment Under the Sea is some of the best content Atomic Heart has received so far, keeping up with the quality established by the base game and also providing players with some much-needed mobility through the grappling hook, adding quite a bit of depth to both exploration and combat.

The blueprint for a title like this has already been set by 2017’s Deadwood, so it’s disappointing to see Edge of Sanity completely miss the mark in such a way, failing to provide a competent horror experience as it chooses to ignore its strengths to focus on tedium and repetition instead.

The Rangers in the South does the bare minimum to be considered an ARPG and thoroughly fails at being a roguelike. This is a game that would have benefitted a lot from player input and more development time, as it feels rushed and lacking in content.

It’s very easy to like the game’s characters thanks to how much personality they have, and things like the voice acted cutscenes are the cherry on top of the whole experience. If Pizza Tower looks a little too daunting, then look towards Antonblast for an easier entry into the world of fast-paced 2D platformers; you won’t regret it.

Crypt Custodian doesn’t deviate far from the very basics of the Metroidvania formula, but it polishes simplicity to the point where you can’t help but be engaged by it. Having a tight combat system, exploration that doesn’t screech to a halt every five minutes, and a pleasant aesthetic is more than enough to create a fun experience, and Crypt Custodian does exactly that.

Grunn is fully committed to being a surreal experience, but doesn’t go too far to the point where it becomes nonsense, instead striking a good balance between the mundane and weird. It deserves its place as one of the most charming horror titles released this year, and is more than worth playing if you enjoy feeling isolated, uncomfortable, and Dutch.

Fairy Tail: Dungeons is not necessarily a good game to pick up if you aren’t familiar with the roguelike card battler genre, but it is a decent product for Fairy Tail fans and it does enough with its premise to be fun for a few hours, even if lacking in content.
