Launch Window“Chronique des Silencieux is too wordy and slow for casuals and too dull and amateurish for the veterans of the genre.”

Launch Window“Chronique des Silencieux is a feast for the eyes and a fantastic test for your detective skills, but the controls and difficulty go a little too far beyond clunky to truly call it a masterpiece.”

Launch Window“Gameplay and translation issues aside, there is a great idea here that is well presented overall, if a little confusing in its execution. Even if it's difficult to enjoy as a detective experience, the core elements that make up Chronique des Silencieux have merit and could easily be improved in patches, updates and possibly sequels.”

Launch Window“Pierre Feuille Studio had lofty ambitions with Chronique des Silencieux. While their dreams of making the truest detective game were held back by some perplexing translations and frustrating logic, they accomplished their goals of making something truly unique. Despite the genre's booming prevalence in the last decade, Chronique's historical fiction approach to its mystery and the relatively ordinary mysteries you're solving make for an experience unlike many of its contemporaries. With a great hand-drawn art style and the endless promise of its detail-oriented systems, it does just enough to keep you intrigued across its 10-15 hour story, if you're patient enough to bother with the piles of documents and confusing leads, that is.”

Launch Window“Chronique des Silencieux is a game that could have been a great detective adventure, but is ruined by its poor translation and lack of guidance. The game’s story is intriguing, but is obscured by the errors and inconsistencies in the text. The game’s gameplay is challenging, but is hindered by the confusion and frustration caused by the translation and the lack of direction. The game’s graphics and sound are decent, but are not enough to save the game from its flaws. Chronique des Silencieux is a game that is not worth your time or money, unless you are fluent in French and have a lot of patience.”

Launch Window“Chronique des Silencieux has the makings of a decent detective game, but bugs, localisation issues and a stubbornly rigid set of puzzle mechanics hobble it from the outset. Elementary, this is not.”

Launch Window“Chronique des Silencieux is a game I’ve waited quite a while for, and I am happy to report it didn’t disappoint at all. It was everything it promised to be. I hope this is not the last I see from Eugene, a private detective.”

Launch Window“Chronique des Silencieux is a fun yet challenging, story-rich point-and-click isometric game, with 10 to 12 hours of playtime, dripping with story, interestingly unique characters, and beautiful designs, which is well worth playing. Uncovering the story’s mystery is fun and fulfilling and keeps players interested in the next step to uncovering the truth.”

Launch Window“Chronique des Silencieux is a narrative-driven point-and-click detective game that prioritizes agency over everything and allows you to connect the dots, and solve the mysteries however you deem fit. It doesn't hold your hand and trusts you to come to your own conclusions and while I'm not a fan of the art style, and some minor bugs get in the way of fun, it's a detective game unlike anything else that's definitely worth playing.”
