Late Review“Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remastered is a fun callback to the adventure games of days gone by. Players can easily immerse themselves in its unique, dark world filled with mysteries, but it is the exploration that will keep them coming back for more.”

Launch Window“Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster is a huge mess. With an uninteresting narrative and characters, the game completely fails to hold the player's attention and interest throughout the entire journey.”

Launch Window“Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remastered does just enough to prevent a 2016 game from bringing tears to our eyes. The improvements in resolution and graphics allow us to enjoy a game with an accessible length (about 15 hours + 10 hours of DLC) and considerable depth in terms of gameplay.”

Launch Window“Anima Gate of Memories: I&II Remaster is a collection that deserves credit for re-releasing two unique titles in the most solid and consistent way possible. It does not attempt to modernize the formula or reinvent it, but aims to provide a more stable experience that is less prone to the original technical issues. The two narrative perspectives contained in a single package emerge today with greater clarity and continuity, representing the true added value of this new edition. It is a recommended collection for those who have never played the series, and a useful opportunity for those who wanted to replay it without the limitations of the past.”

Launch Window“Anima Gate of Memories: I&II Remaster brings the graphics a lot more up to date compared to the 2018 release." The character models, backgrounds, and lighting have all been improved, and outdoor locations, such as the Great Plains, appear bright and appealing.”

Launch Window“Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster delivered an improved version with superior lighting, textures, and new difficulty settings. However, it still falls short due to the lack of Portuguese subtitles and the limiting Ki bar, which hinders the overall combat flow.”

Launch Window“Anima: Gate of Memories is decent, and I did enjoy my time with it overall. But the repetitive combat and clunky mechanics hold it back from being truly fun. I do think though that most people who decide to pick it up will enjoy it especially for the current price. The story is interesting, the world is varied, the graphics overhaul is well done, but with the remaster you aren’t getting much new content just a collection with a face lift.”

Launch Window“Anima Gate of Memories I&II Remaster is a solid remaster of a game that may have flown under the radar for many when it was originally released in 2016 and 2018. It delivers on what it sets out to do, featuring decent gameplay, an excellent soundtrack, strong art direction, and an interesting level design — though there’s still room for improvement.”
