Clunky controls, gameplay that feels more punishing than rewarding, and technical issues keep me from experiencing the “breathtakingly beautiful journey” the game promises. Nova Antarctica is simply a complete miss.

Launch Window

Nova Antarctica offers a charming, endearing, and adventure-filled survival journey with plenty of crafting, exploration, and world-building. It has a lot of great ideas and a strong sense of atmosphere, but the rough edges, UI frustrations, and mechanical inconsistencies can hold it back. There is a rewarding experience here, but you need patience to push through its quirks.

Launch Window

Nova Antarctica is set in the year 2900, when Antarctica has become a dangerous and mysterious continent. As the protagonist, you follow a mysterious radio signal to the Antarctic, while trying to survive in snowstorms and abandoned research stations. The game combines survival and crafting with choices that influence your adventure. You collect resources, craft items and manage your backpack and equipment against harsh weather conditions. The pace of the game is slow and constantly re-collecting resources can be frustrating. For those who enjoy quiet, challenging exploration, Nova Antarctica offers a unique, atmospheric experience.
