Clunky controls, gameplay that feels more punishing than rewarding, and technical issues keep me from experiencing the “breathtakingly beautiful journey” the game promises. Nova Antarctica is simply a complete miss.

"Perfect Tides: Station to Station" is not a game that overwhelms me. It accompanies me. It challenges my patience, my compassion and my willingness to think in small steps. This story of an uncertain year is told in cautious pixels and whispering sounds. It is a quiet, honest look at growing up. Those who engage with it will experience a game that is not spectacular, but deeply moving.

Those who enjoy bringing order to apparent chaos will find many satisfying moments here. "Craftlings" is not a loud spectacle, but a cleverly constructed, charming strategy game that rewards patience, observation skills, and a willingness to experiment.

The story of little Isaac and his family is sweetly told, and the mystical atmosphere and unusual perspective draw me into the action. However, the controls on the Nintendo Switch 2 are disappointing. While the PC version tracks my eyes and face, I have to do everything with the Joycons here.

Early Review

After many hours spent playing "Pioneers of Pagonia", one thing stands out above all else: the tranquility of a game that draws its excitement not from spectacle, but from the quality of its growth. The settlement develops steadily, layer by layer, until a few pioneers give rise to a finely interlocking network of paths, workshops, and flows of goods. Long-term motivation comes primarily from your own planning. Those who enjoy fine-tuning production chains, optimizing paths, or rethinking village structures will find a constant challenge in "Pagonia".

“It Takes a War” achieves in less than an hour what most blockbusters fail to achieve in hundreds of hours. It moves something inside me. Using Counter Strike 1.6 as a backdrop for a larger narrative is daring, but it works brilliantly. Breaking out of the level means facing your own fears and confronting reality. This balancing act between virtual familiarity and a place beyond your comfort zone makes “It Takes a War” an experience that lingers long after, like the shot from an AWP.

Bridge Constructor Studio pretty much met my expectations for a casual game. The game is great for bridging (pun intended) waiting times or boredom. It's a fun physics game that lets me choose whether to build efficiently or creatively. In difficult scenarios, I would like to see more help options.

I was on the verge of abandoning the review. After completing the short tutorial, I was faced with the task of teaching myself the game in the campaign through learning by doing. Important information is too hidden, too much micromanagement requires my attention, too many functions are simply not accessible to me. But it's worth persevering through the initial difficulties. After I've warmed up to the game a little, I realize how many possibilities are open to me.

“Pro Cycling Manager 2025” remains what it has been for years: an in-depth management simulation for cycling nerds. Full of details, unwieldy, old-fashioned and fascinating at the same time.

I will remember “Berserk or Die” not for its design, but for its unique controls. The fact that I can control the strength and distance of my attacks by pressing several keys on the keyboard at the same time draws me incredibly into the game.

"Pixelshire" had the potential to be a charming life simulation. But the awkward controls, counterintuitive game mechanics and confusing presentation are annoying. On top of that, the illogical story is devoid of any real substance. This makes virtual life in “Pixelshire” a real test of patience instead of a cozy experience.

“Void Sails” is a playable book with space ships in the Cthulhu Mythos. An absurd mixture that is both captivating and cozy at the same time.

“SpreadCheat” is a Sudoku-like puzzle game with a lot of 90s charm. In terms of gameplay, it is unspectacular and not very challenging. However, the crude humor kept me entertained during the short playing time.

“Darfall” is not a masterpiece — but a game with character. It brings a familiar but effective mix of base building, survival, tower defense and a touch of action RPG to the screen. However, it still lacks depth in terms of content. The maps and enemy types offer too little variety to keep me hooked in the long term.

“The Darkest Files” is a haunting, narrative investigation adventure which deals courageously and seriously with a dark chapter of German history: the legal investigation of National Socialist crimes in West Germany in the 1950s. The game approaches this sensitive topic with the necessary seriousness, without lapsing into pathos or simplification. The narrative always stays credible, supported by realistic characters, genuine historical references and a palpable moral urgency. It deliberately dispenses with classic entertainment elements and instead focuses on emotional depth, historical accuracy and a quiet but intense presentation.

I love analyzing and improving the processes in the game. I spend many hours observing my ants and tinkering with the system. Again and again I make mistakes and work out ways to fix them. It's great fun - especially because “Microtopia” is not one of the usual "conveyor belt games".

“The Executive” offers an interesting premise by putting me in the role of an aspiring film producer building his own movie studio from the ground up. The game starts promisingly with the ability to control various aspects of movie production. However, the game quickly loses its appeal as the tasks and processes are repetitive and offer little variety. Overall, “The Executive” lacks depth and long-term motivation.

Blood Bar Tycoon offers a refreshing change of pace in the business simulation genre by combining the management of a vampire bar with humorous and dark elements. Unfortunately, the game often feels like an early access title with unfinished game mechanics and bugs.
