City Tales - Medieval Era is not only a truly successful debut from the small development team at Irregular Shapes but also one of the best city builders currently available on the market. The game pleasant audiovisual presentation gives it a fantastic, almost idyllic atmosphere, making the hours spent playing pass by completely unnoticed.

My journey with Godbreakers lasted for over a dozen hours, but, I actually finished the game in under ten. I had so much fun, that I kept fighting bosses and unlocking new cosmetic extras even after finishing the campaign. After a while, the lack of enemy variety and the limitations of the combat system started to wear on me, but I’ll happily return once an update drops. It’s an enjoyable and rather small title that could really benefit from more content.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Claws of Awaji is a huge disappointment. The map is practically identical, filled with the same activities we already know, and we run across it guided by a story that uses the very same motives and scenes we encountered in the base game. Is this an expansion aimed at the most die-hard fans of the series? Ubisoft — is that really all you’ve got?

Len’s Island is a highly digestible blend of survival, crafting, and action RPG. It offers considerable freedom, a picturesque world, numerous systems, and, at least for the first few hours, satisfying gameplay both solo and in co-op. Even if it didn’t win my heart I consider it a fairly interesting entry among recent indie sandbox games, proving that even in a flood of similar titles, something unique can be created. Playing solo, you’ll likely get bored quickly, but in a group, this title can provide many hours of engaging fun. After all, everything’s better with friends, even running around barefoot.

Songs of Silence is a bold attempt to refresh the somewhat stiff genre of turn-based strategy games. It shines bright at the start, but unfortunately, the title loses appeal eventually due to the shallowness of its systems.

Mirthwood was the title I was most looking forward to this year. The delay in its release disappointed me greatly, but today, the only thing I am disappointed with is the state of this production and all of its unfulfilled promises. I might return to it later, because I see the potential in it, and perhaps, like No Man's Sky, The Mirthwood will get fixed through the patches, but right now, it's simply not worth your time.

I didn't expect that this seemingly small indie game would grow into such a strong contender for my personal Game of the Year. Discovering this world, learning the stories of the characters I met along the way, and fighting — all of this was such fun in Drova. Just2D served up a great piece of code, that catches the wild spirit of Gothic just right. I highly recommend it and hope that Drova gets at least a nomination for the December 'game Oscars'. It deserves it!

It's a delightful, fairy-tale title that can captivate with its locations and wipe the floor with the player during boss fights. I can even forgive how often I died during the platforming sections because I felt satisfaction when I finally managed to complete them. Do I recommend playing it? Yes. In its current version, it's a good title, and with further updates, it might get even better.
