Combining Egyptian themes with a dash of sci-fi flair, Voidwrought is very pretty for a Metroidvania. Its story is light, and there is minor backtracking here and there, but its eye-catching visuals and satisfying gameplay make it a great pick.

Phoenix Springs is a visually stunning game with a gripping atmosphere and an emotionally charged story despite being only about four hours long. Its unresolved ending comes off as pretentious, and the emotional heaviness may not sit well with everyone. If you're into art-driven narratives, Phoenix Springs is worth experiencing at least once.

KILL KNIGHT is an enjoyable and fast-paced action experience that avoids the attention struggles that I face in our digitally-dominated society. From the very beginning of the game, it had my full attention with gut-wrenching visuals in cutscenes and easy-to-learn but deep combat mechanics.

Looney Tunes: Wacky World of Sports is a family-friendly title that does not take many risks, nor does it do much to shake up the family-oriented sports game genre. The game presents itself as merely another flavor of the sort of game that can be played when your buddies are over, and it does a solid job at that. If you are a parent thinking about getting this game for your child, this would be a solid way of introducing them to the wacky world of Looney Tunes.

While NanoApostle might not be a must-play for everyone, it deserves at least a solid recommendation for players who want a succinct, soulslike package; its short runtime is full of challenging and rewarding boss fights. Plus, I think it would be a great game to take around on the Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch. If the urge hits for a streamlined, no-frills action game, NanoApostle is worth checking out because it is a fantastic boss rush title.

Bloodless provides an engaging experience with challenging and fun combat, a badass elderly protagonist, an interesting premise that I enjoyed where her determination to keep a vow is at odds with all the violence around her, and some interesting and eccentric characters who provide a bit of comic relief to the otherwise tense atmosphere.

If you're a fan of roguelike deckbuilding games and enjoy a challenge, Knock on the Coffin Lid offers plenty of depth and replayability. Just be prepared for some rough edges. You might want to temper your expectations if you value narrative depth as much as gameplay. The game shines brightest when you're fully engaged in its strategic combat and experimentation, but it's not without its frustrations. Ultimately, it's a game worth playing if you're willing to push through the challenges and have a bit of patience.

Phantom Spark is a wonderfully easy-to-pick-up racing game that draws inspiration from classics like F-Zero and Wipeout and takes you on an entrancing journey of self-improvement. The racetracks are varied and offer a welcoming difficulty curve. The game offers a lot of room for error for newbies, but there is much more room for perfecting each track while getting lost in the soundtrack. The addictive gameplay loop comes from trying to beat your own ghost. Phantom Spark is a great little racing game that is definitely worth a try as long as you are okay with retrying a lot.

Despite its flaws, like performance issues, problematic AI, and a clunky tutorial system, the game shows promise. The developers are clearly passionate about motorsports, and with some updates and fine-tuning, Hot Lap Racing could become a top-tier racing title on the Switch and it is a respectable title created by an indie game studio. For dedicated racing fans, it's worth checking out, but be ready for some bumps along the way.

SPYxANYA: Operation Memories's simple yet fun mechanics, such as capturing perfect moments for Anya's diary and participating in charming mini-games, offer a relaxing and enjoyable gameplay loop. With its emphasis on family, love, and the everyday adventures of the Forger family, this game is a heartfelt recommendation for anyone looking for a cozy little game that is simple, good, and fun.

Noreya: The Gold Project is a lovingly made Metroidvania that does indeed stand out from the countless other titles of this genre that come out each year. With its cool mechanics, interesting ideas, beautiful visuals, and an endgame that makes you feel like a badass, Noreya: The Gold Project is a solid Metroidvania that reminded me of my early days of gaming and it is a game that should not be overlooked.

Wuthering Waves avoids the pressure to spend seen in some gacha games and offers a deep combat system that is both accessible and rewarding for free-to-play players. While the story and world can feel a bit sterile at times, the combat mechanics are a blast to master, and the endgame offers a solid challenge for veterans. The upcoming Zero Point Research Station and the potential return of the Depths of Illusive Realm hint at a bright future for the game's content. If you're looking for a fresh open-world adventure with a focus on fast-paced action and strategic team-play, Wuthering Waves has great potential and is worth checking out.
