Don’t Stop, Girlypop is a stylized and bold experience that fully embraces aesthetic and narrative exaggeration from start to finish, featuring a vibrant universe, a catchy soundtrack, and interesting gameplay ideas. However, issues such as unsatisfying movement, repetitive combat, and a confusing interface prevent it from reaching its full potential. Still, for those looking for an unconventional boomer shooter filled with pink and self-deprecating humor, Imber’s journey through Oasis delivers a curious and entertaining adventure.

Wander Stars is a turn-based RPG that heavily pays homage to 80s/90s shonen anime, featuring a simple and charming story presented in an episodic format. Its combat is innovative and fun, based on strategic word combinations to perform attacks. Although the game is charismatic and the management of your word arsenal adds depth, the repetitiveness of the gameplay loop (walking and battling) can drag on during long sessions.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage is the definitive version of the nearly 20-year-old classic, adding Rollback Netcode and crossplay, as well as an excellent offline journey mode. Despite the overpriced DLCs and a shallow, mostly empty online matchmaking mode, the gameplay remains one of the strongest aspects of the 3D fighting game genre. The game is now more accessible to newcomers thanks to the offline journey mode, but Sega needs to focus on improving online-offline integration to address long wait times and player inactivity in ranked matches.

The House of the Dead 2 Remake is a disappointing reinterpretation that fails — and badly — to capture the spirit of the original. While it retains the classic gameplay, it presents an inconsistent aesthetic and a level of polish inferior to Megapixel’s previous remakes. The company’s lack of investment and care results in generic graphics, stiff animations, and an art direction that shows no understanding of what made the original such a classic and fun experience. Despite some accessibility options and the nostalgic appeal of the original content, the remake tarnishes the franchise, standing out as yet another lazy and disrespectful effort toward a beloved classic — something that has sadly become a pattern for Megapixel.

Chickenhare and the Treasure of Spiking-Beard ends up being just a simple platformer designed to draw attention to the new film in the franchise. Nothing really stands out here—the plot is shallow, the gameplay lacks depth, and there are some technical issues. If you're a fan of Chickenhare, it might be worth checking out, but for those looking for a fun platformer experience, there are infinitely better options on the market.

Formula Legends is a game made with passion, and it shows. It understands the charm of old-school racing and translates that nostalgia into an accessible, colorful, and fun experience. It's the kind of title that makes you want to go "just one more lap"—and that brings smiles to the faces of those who grew up watching Alonso, Hamilton, Prost, Senna, Schumacher, and Vettel on those magical race days. But, like a small team trying to compete with giants, the game stumbles on technical limitations and strange decisions, such as the complete absence of multiplayer. It still lacks polish and consistency to achieve a podium finish. Ultimately, Formula Legends doesn't even come close to the title, but it deserves respect for reminding us all why motorsports is so captivating.

In short, Hirogami is a 3D platformer that stands out for its creative visual design and original concept of transforming origami into a gameplay mechanic. The artistic identity is strong, but stumbles on crucial points: an unengaging narrative, uncharismatic characters, and a camera that compromises the experience at various points. Even so, the level design and the variety of forms Hiro can assume keep the game functional and engaging throughout much of the campaign. Like origami, Hirogami is impressive from afar for its aesthetics, but when handled, it reveals structural weaknesses.

Abyssus is quite competent in its approach, especially considering it was developed by a smaller studio. The game combines the dark maritime Brinepunk look with Cyberpunk elements, delivering an immersive setting that keeps the player engaged with each expedition. The combat is fast-paced and satisfying, offering fluidity in both confrontations against hordes of enemies and boss battles. The title stands out for its high replayability, thanks to the wide range of blessings, amulets, and weapons that allow for different playstyles and strategies in each match. Furthermore, the cooperative mechanics add an extra layer of fun, making Abyssus a great option for weekend gaming sessions with friends.

Hell Clock presents a different approach than the usual ARPGs, incorporating roguelite elements into its formula—and yet still manages to be equally captivating. The game captivates from the very first moments thanks to the careful localization of the dialogue, replete with slang and expressions typical of the Northeast, and is a true gift for those who value Brazilian culture in gaming. Its art direction is impeccable, with striking visuals that dialogue with both comic book and folk art styles, while the soundtrack animates the journey with the familiar Northeastern musicality. Hell Clock is a sure bet, my friend—for both veterans and newcomers to the ARPG universe. With a fictional narrative inspired by real events, the game also offers a robust build and relic system, capable of captivating for hours, encouraging experimentation and the use of different strategies.

Antro is a musical platformer that blends rhythm and puzzle levels, set in a dystopian underground in Barcelona. Its greatest strength lies in its soundtrack, integrated into the gameplay, and its visuals inspired by urban peripheries. The story addresses themes of oppression, revolution, and inequality, but superficially. Despite the bugs and short length, it delivers a good sensory experience, but its short length lacks depth in the narrative and themes portrayed.

POPUCOM was a pleasant surprise and I highly recommend it. Perfect for those looking for a new co-op exclusive game after It Takes Two and Split Fiction. It's a cute, charismatic, enjoyable, and sometimes quite challenging experience. Solving the puzzles using all the gadgets and abilities dynamically is quite satisfying. It will certainly test friendships and the bonds of some couples, haha.

If you're looking for a fighting game with a lot of style, a strong cultural identity, precise combat and a huge competitive potential, Pocket Bravery is a choice that deserves your attention. I can say that the game is a source of pride for the game development scene in Brazil.

Mostroscopy is one of the most random games I've played in recent times. It has the look and soul of an independent project, with limited gameplay and questionable presentation, but it still manages to be fun. Its unique aesthetics and cultural references are charming in their own right, even if they're exaggerated. Not everything works: the lack of balance, the translation issues, the weak soundtrack and the disjointed story may put off many players. But there's something special here – a sincere effort to create something different. And that deserves recognition.

I understand and respect the developer's proposal: to create games as a hobby. However, charging for a project of this level? It would be more acceptable if it were available for free on itch.io. But no: there is a price here, albeit a low one. Super Engine GT Turbo Spec is generic, uninspired and not very fun. You might be able to extract a minimum of entertainment from it if you turn off your brain, but even then, it's hard to believe that.

Amidst the flood of roguelites released in recent years, Reignbreaker stands out mainly for its hand-illustrated art and frenetic combat. Unfortunately, the game falls short in the development of the narrative and characters, making its story more of an empty cliché. Clearly inspired by Hades, the title appropriates some mechanics, but this is not a negative point. On the contrary, it manages to stand out by introducing new combat dynamics and building its own identity within the competitive roguelite genre. Recommended.

Nobody Nowhere delivers an engaging plot, full of philosophical dilemmas that make the player think. I wish there was at least one more hour of gameplay to better develop some characters, but at the same time, it's refreshing to play an impactful visual novel that doesn't take dozens of hours to complete. Nobody Nowhere is definitely a hidden gem from early 2025.

Overall, Morkull Ragast’s Rage is a competent game, but it has some obvious problems, such as the lack of an engaging narrative and the need for more polish in combat and enemy variety. The game gives the impression that the developers used all their ideas in the introduction and left much to be desired in the rest of the experience. Breaking the fourth wall with the main character is a great idea, but it is underused, appearing very few times throughout the game. Morkull Ragast’s Rage presents itself as a unique game, standing out for its charismatic protagonist, but in the end, it delivers a generic Metroidvania, without flavor and ambition.

Mark of the Deep stands out as an engaging and well-constructed experience, combining an intriguing narrative with refined exploration and combat mechanics. Despite some ups and downs in the voice acting, the game demonstrates great care in the construction of its setting and plot. With a very well-executed proposal, Mark of the Deep establishes itself as a remarkable title within the genre, providing an immersive and rewarding journey.

The Tale of Bistun's overall balance is positive. Although its combat is completely forgettable, even though it is present at several moments, the narrative sustains the experience, accompanied by an engaging soundtrack. It's not a game that will stay in your memory for the rest of your life, but as a brief experience to enjoy on a weekend afternoon, it's certainly worth it.

For a first title from the studio, ReSetna is a well-executed project, with satisfying combat, a simple but well-structured story, and a captivating setting. The game competently portrays a fragmented post-apocalyptic world, but its technical issues compromise the experience. It's frustrating to see the game's potential overshadowed by avoidable flaws, and the lack of polish in some aspects hinders the player's enjoyment. If the developers can fix these issues, ReSetna could become a worthy addition to the Metroidvania genre.
