Henry Halfhead's unique concept and simple yet effective gameplay make it a great sandbox puzzler to cause mischief in. Despite wanting the game to go further with its concept and make the gameplay more ambitious, it settles for a heartfelt and relatable story instead, bringing more feeling into what you do as a result.

Henry Halfhead is essentially a semi-open playground that rewards curiosity and ingenuity. It works best for children as the tasks are not very difficult or demanding. At first, playing with everything seemed refreshing, but the idea quickly became boring. The end result is a warm, playful but not very memorable puzzle game.

This could have been an interesting title if there were actually puzzles, goals, and something else of substance for you to do. Instead, what we have here is something that feels more like a tech demo. Minimalist in design; mechanics that are sound and work well, but are never realized to their full potential; a really short duration that, still, somehow, manages to overstay its welcome after a short while.

I had a great experience playing the role of Henry Halfhead. The story is engaging, and the gameplay is enjoyable. The game doesn’t drag on, as I completed it in about two hours.

The big problem with Henry Halfhead is that the endint is strong, but the journey to the conclusion isn’t always consistent, and the message gets lost between attempts at mechanical inventiveness and repetition.

While perhaps its overall simplicity and more sandbox style may not be for everyone, the experience has charm and a childlike spirit on its side

Henry Halfhead is a brief, joyful experience that highlights the significance of play. It is a game that invites you to have fun, try stuff out, see what you can do, build, and achieve, without the pressure to be the best or improve some skill set. The wacky premise, unique gameplay, and focus on creativity and discovery amount to the perfect environment for players to find their own fun.

Henry Halfhead is a novel idea, putting you in control of a half-headed man who can possess the items around him. It's both a sandbox and a narrative experience, although some sections can be as dull as the parts of our life they're supposed to represent.

I found Henry Halfhead to be a profound game that reminds you that it’s never too late. As the titular little creature, you can examine your role in your own life and how what is often seen as ‘good’ and ‘productive’ in the eyes of society will grind you into miserable dust and may even kill you…but also you can put together big puzzle pieces and wear funny hats. What more could you ask for from a game? What more could you ask for from life?

While the story really stuck with me and I mostly enjoyed the gameplay, I did feel like there was something missing to really pull the game together as a whole. Having more tasks to complete or maybe having a bit more challenge to the puzzles would’ve helped. There were also a few small bugs I ran into, mostly with getting stuck in between things. Sometimes I created a lot more of a mess than I wanted to while traversing. It was easy to accidentally knock the objects over that you needed to keep upright, which could be a bit of an annoyance at times.

In my opinion, Henry Halfhead is perfect. It has the same colorful, cartoon vibe as games like Wattam and Fruitbus while being something unique. I adore this game, and I hope you have the time to experience Henry Halfhead for yourself!

Henry Halfhead is a daft game with a lot of heart, and even if it only lasts a couple of hours they're still well worth experiencing.

But it feels like the sort of game you'd play for 15 minutes, say 'wow, this will never get old!' and then 45 minutes later you're kind of thinking maybe you were wrong.

The game is very straightforward and only a couple of hours or so in duration, which is all the time it needs, really. It's a joyous little thing while it lasts, but smartly ends before it runs out of new things to show you.

Henry Halfhead is a quaint and short adventure: controlling the objects is very fun and witnessing Henry's life is, at the very least, curious and compelling. The final sequence is very beautiful, making the message of valuing small moments stronger. I just felt like it was lacking in more areas, more objects with various functions and a slightly more extensive journey. Despite the small issues, it's worth experiencing the title and slowing down a bit – before the crazy routine becomes too much for one's (half a) head.

By the end of my time with the game, I felt grateful tears welling up — for being able to experience what Henry had to offer and for how it helped me reflect on my own life. It is a simple little thing, not unlike Time Flies, another 2025 favorite which offers a similar runtime and mini puzzle box format. But Henry Halfhead made me feel more and smile more than many other games have this year. So I've got half a mind (get it?) to say you've got to give this game a try if you've still got whimsy in your heart — or if you're looking for a gateway to finding more of it.

Henry Halfhead is a creative, humorous, and original puzzle experience that is enjoyable for all. However, repetition with puzzles and abilities leads to an experience that is held back from being great. Still, this is a game worth playing for puzzle fans.

"Henry Halfhead" is a short but very concise adventure we call our lives. It's not too long, the gameplay isn't overly contrived, and you can't really go wrong. However, all of this is also positive. The story fits the length of the game and offers a pleasant experience in a short playing time. The very forgiving gameplay allows every player to tackle the objectives the way they prefer. Henry, at least, has grown on me and has given me pause for thought more than once, which is wonderful
