As someone extremely sceptic about an expansion for “Dynasty Warriors: Origins” due to the way it is structured, “Visions of Four Heroes” won me over with its narrative and an excellent amount of challenge — something that the game base lacked. I just it came alongside a “New Game+” option.

Dripping with atmosphere, “Quarantine Zone: The Last Check” embraces both the monotonous and stressful aspects of working at checkpoint. It’s a game that asks you to take decisions that are way above your pay grade, and deal with the mental health consequences yourself.

Although it lacks a bit of challenge for management games veterans, “Zooseum” is another amazing DLC for a game that grew and got even better over 2025. The new habitat system is a fantastic addition to “Two Point Museum”, and alongside some great Quality of Life additions, it makes it a “must have” for Two Point Studios fans

Easy to learn, hard to master — even though it is occasionally frustrating —, “Dark Quest 4” is a safe bet for those looking for an engrossing, yet, straightforward turn-based dungeon crawler.

“Reach” shows how much nDreams evolved as a studio when it comes to pacing, puzzles and movement in VR. On the other hand, its once strongest aspect — shooting and combat — feels repetitive and lackluster.

Cloverpit is simple and straight to the point. It is both its greatest strength and weakness. Panik Arcade does a good job of creating atmosphere and an interesting narrative, but the lack of agency due to the nature of slot machines makes it a game that’s a bit too repetitive for its own good.

Although it has some glaring performance and AI issues, “Firefighting Simulator: Ignite” is by far the most authentic firefighting game I’ve ever played. It’s challenging enough solo and a blast in coop. A must have for simulation fans.

Although it lacks a bit of challenge, “Let Them Trade” is a fantastic showcase of how to recontextualize trade routes in a way that makes it more compelling and more interesting to convey city planning.

“Fantasy Finds” won’t set the management subgenre on fire, but Two Point Studios first DLC for “Two Point Museum” continues to showcase the impressive shift in “quality over quantity”. Extremely detailed, enjoyable to explore and challenging enough to pick up the game again and spend countless hours creating your “perfect museum”.

It’s clear that Gundam SEED Battle Destiny is, at the end of the day, a PlayStation VITA game. On the other hand, it’s one of the few that harkens back to the PlayStation 2 era of Gundam Games. It’s rough around the edges, but if you are either a SEED fan or just miss the “classic” feel of playing Gundam, it’s a worthwhile endeavour.

Slipgate Ironwokrs did what a lot deemed to be impossible, create a balance between a good “Command & Conquer Homage” and a spiritual successor. “Tempest Rising” is complex, but not overwhelming. Alongside a great campaign and a solid multiplayer, it’s a great start for 2025 in terms of Real Time Strategy games.

“The Talos Principle: Reawakened” is what remasters should strive for. Improving the visuals, while maintaining some of the quirks and uniqueness of the original game. Alongside with great developer commentary and a great new episode, it showcases how impactful it was, and still is, Croteam’s amazing puzzle game.

Triumph Studios avoids the traps of adding a new powerful ruler type and, while it's aimed at veteran players, “Giant Kings” adds a much-needed friction, depth and variety to “Age of Wonders 4”, proving it's still one of the best fantasy 4X games around.

Although a bit repetitive in terms of layout end enemy design, “Reignbreaker” showcases that you don’t need to overly rely on metaprogresstion to make a roguelike interesting. With a good cast, story and engaging mechanics, Studio Fizbin’s swan swong is not one to be missed.

While I enjoy the idea of playing as Iraq, Iran or Afghanistan in “Hearts of Iron IV”, “Graveyard of Empires” has a hard time to make them compelling enough. Poor Focus Trees and a heavy dose of bugs makes it this Country Pack, much like “Trials of Allegiance”, another miss for Paradox Development Studios.

“Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders” is a big improvement from Megagon Industries previous game in some areas, not so much in others. While it captures the spirit of “Lonely Mountains: Downhill”, I do miss the more challenging objectives – replaced with an online focused run mode. I hope they bring it back in later updates.

“Stellaris: Grand Archives” manages to balance new mechanics, appealing events and new ways to expand your empire. Even though it adds an extra layer of micromanagement, it’s a great addition to an already great game. Space is weird and full of unknown creatures, and Paradox finally embraces this idea.

“Dimps” combat mechanics is what carries “Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream”’s middling plot, repetitive quests and an undercooked free roam mode. There’s a lot to love if you played every “Sword Art Online” game, but sadly, I am not one of them.

“Apartment Story” is a fantastic tale about our lives routine, monotony and the struggle to be an adult in the mid 2020s. It’s a strong showcase of how hard life can be, but if you look deep into it, you will find moments of peace, love and that every decision – no matter how big or small – will have an outcome in your life. You wont always be ready for it, but that’s okay. That is life, after all.

With some extremely highs, but also very lows, “Sumerian Six” carries on the spirit of the stealth genre left by Mimimi Productions. Although a bit too easy sometimes, it has enough charm and beautiful vistas for you to experiment with crazy tactics, and, of course, punch nazis.
