Late Review

It's not as if the developers at Milestone aren't idle. This year's motocross offshoot, Monster Energy Supercross 6, also features some worthwhile new features, such as a slightly more engaging career mode, cross-play in multiplayer, and a significantly larger "playground" for practicing your skills. The new Rhythm Attack mode, in which you duel with another rider, is also a worthwhile expansion of the gameplay. I was particularly excited that you can now finally modify and customize your bike down to the last detail. The coherent overall package makes this a definite purchase for motorsport fans!

Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 6 simply cares about improving the experience of being in an intense race, and it has achieved it with flying colors. However, basically having the same thing in terms of content can end up leaving that impression of more of the same, which fatally ends up affecting sports games.

Despite the improvements and news but also some defects and edges still to be cleared, especially from a technical point of view, this sixth edition of AMA Supercross will make more difference for those who have not played any of the previous editions. If you still have the fifth edition around, the changes are not of great importance, so it will make more sense to wait for a next edition.

The new addition to the motocross series from Milestone does not bring anything groundbreaking compared to older games, but it is a little closer to reality.

After years of tweaking, Milestone releases a true competitor to one of their best supercross games, “Monster Energy Supercross 3”. Its sixth iteration improves in nearly every aspect of the gameplay — from physics to a better career management. The downside? Not so great pilot models and a wonky multiplayer, something that I am more than glad to look past if it means spending more time on the track.

Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame 6 remains a great game in its segment, with solid mechanics, competent visuals and a good level of challenge. However, it innovates very little compared to its predecessors and maintains some of the franchise's chronic problems.

This new iteration feels fun for both bike-enthusiasts and newcomer alike, but it's still an old-gen game and it shows.

With The Official Videogame 6, The Monster Energy Supercross series from Milestone continues to feel like the pot on the back burner of all the racing series they develop and publish.

With a deep and fun career mode, online cross-play, and enough modes to keep anyone busy, Monster Energy Supercross 6 is the best game in the history of the series.

A great physics system and various modes to play keep Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 6 afloat amidst some technical issues and an uninspired aesthetic. Recommended for motocross fanatics only.

Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videogame 6 is a highly polished, excellent entry to the Monster Energy Supercross series that has me excited to keep coming back for more races. The updates to the game's physics especially had me feeling like I was more in control of my riding experience than ever before. Unfortunately, the Supercross Academy contributed very little to this improved experience and the new Rhythm Attack mode left something to be desired as well.

The judgment on SX6 does not differ much from that of the previous episode: Milestone has continued on the path traced last year, focusing on an even more accessible and customizable driving model to satisfy a wider audience.

Studio Milestone are, without a doubt, the experts for bike games in the gaming industry today, not so much because they are particularly very good, but because few other developers bother with simulations of all conceivable disciplines and forms of motorbike racing.

Monster Energy Supercross 6 feels like a victory lap for the series. It's a podium finish without a doubt, but they're going to need to raise the bar for the next race to ensure they take home the championship instead of a second-place trophy.

I’m not a hardcore racing or motocross fan, which is something that should be taken into consideration by anyone reading this review. I’m a lifelong sports gamer who loves a balance between simulation and fun. MES6 isn’t a perfect title, but it feels like Milestone has taken significant steps toward delivering a well-rounded experience for hardcore and more casual fans. If the features in place are expounded upon next year, it could climb a spot in my rotation.
