Late Review“BALL x PIT brilliantly combines frenetic action, strategy, and roguelite progression, creating an addictive loop that keeps you coming back for more. The recent free update further enhances its replayability and adds content that expands the gameplay possibilities. The Switch2 version proves to be solid and smooth, perfect for both handheld and docked sessions. BALL x PIT is a must-try game if its premise appeals to you.”

Late Review“Ball X Pit is certainly a unique game and for a time I found it interesting, but if I’m being honest the urge I had to play it felt eerily similar to the urge I’ve had to play crappy mobile games. There is an incremental progression that can be addicting. But after the first few hours I can’t say that I was actually having fun with the game, because it felt like an idle game.”

Launch Window“Overall, Ball X Pit is one of the most fun games I've played this year. The bouncing-ball mechanic is a game-changer. Couple the addictive gameplay with the upgradeable characters and light sim elements, and Ball X Pit is easy to recommend.”

Launch Window“Ball x Pit is a surprisingly deep brick-breaker that relies heavily on smart strategy, clever experimentation, and careful planning more so than RNG and luck alone.”

Launch Window“With BALL X PIT, Kenny Sun has shown that, rather than staying stuck in the same old tracks, by experimenting and intelligently blending different genres, it's possible to create something new and surprising. A small, raw gem capable of shining on its own.”

Launch Window“BALL x PIT is pure fun, like Dead Cells, Hades II, and other roguelites that have hit the right notes. Its design incorporates classics like Arkanoid and bullet hell shooters, and the truth is, the mix works and is incredibly addictive.”

Launch Window“I’m someone who has a lot of fun playing with balls, so you can take it as high praise when I say Ball x Pit’s been some of the best fun I’ve had with a handful of orbs this year. Combining a block breaker with a survive ‘em up is brilliant, the pinball city building is a giggle, and the inventiveness that runs throughout the entire production is utterly brilliant.”

Launch Window“BALL x PIT takes the simple mechanics of a brick breaker like Ballz and transforms them into an explosive roguelite RPG. With twin-stick shooter action, Vampire Survivors-style power-ups, and surprisingly deep city building, each run becomes a whirlwind of frantic action and strategic planning. Unlocking new powers, fusing abilities, and upgrading your base is an irresistible game loop, enhanced by carefully crafted biomes and bullet hell battles against ruthless bosses. Kenny Sun proves once again that he knows how to turn simple ideas into brilliant and engaging experiences.”

Launch Window“It's a hands-on and involved version of its contemporaries, and a truly unique option for anyone who loves the genre. Don't expect jaw-dropping visuals or a tearjerker of a story. But the trade-off of epic gameplay is more than worth it here. In short, you'll have a ball. In fact, you'll have tonnes of them."”

Launch Window“Ball x Pit is a tremendous brew of so many ideas it ought to collapse under the confusion. However, it operates in such perfect balance that it appeals both to the one-more-go instinct and to more cerebral planning and creativity. Kenny Sun Studios set itself a heck of a challenge but, fortunately, hasn't dropped the ball.”

Launch Window“It's designed in such a way that you're constantly given reasons to keep playing, and runs are short enough that it's easy to excuse "just one more". The game is so cleverly done and so moreish to play that fans of roguelites and quick-fire arcade fun simply have to check it out.”
